Quiet, produces well
Update-11-20-22 We have had our machine for 5 weeks now....I believe. Still quiet. I now just pour the water I'm adding to the tank over the ice that is in the basket. Usually there is not too much ice in it, because it gets used so quickly. I'm still very happy with my purchase. END of update. So, this is our second pebble ice machine. The first one was a First Build, which had to be replaced w/in a year of ownership. It was very difficult to clean properly and it got very noisy when attempting to make ice. With the Gevi pebble ice maker, my purchase was on ease of use, ease of cleaning and price point. I do look forward to the first cleaning (after using it for 3-4 weeks) to really see how easy it is and how well it does clean.I'm not a fan of the lift up lid or the way the basket sits and removal of the basket. I do prefer First Builds basket set up. I had a tray that nested up at the front of the machine on the counter that I could rest the basket on while adding water. This one I either pour the water over the ice (which melts the ice) to add water to the basin OR I pull the basket out completely to add the water. I am not setting up a water line to the ice maker, so I'm sure I'll get used to it though, we adapt. The front does protrude a lot more than that of the flat front of the First Build. Which does take up a lot not room on my counter top.Ultimately, I'm glad I have a working pebble ice maker. My Samsung fridge/freezer ice maker stopped working just after the warranty. Big surprise, now we rely on having the counter top machine.

Lasted almost 14 months
I’m surely getting frustrated with this ice maker. I clean it every month with vinegar. I was using tap water but the scale that built up was terrible so we switched to bottled water and still had the scale build up although not as bad. Switched to distilled water and although the scale build up was none, I’ve learned it harder for the machine to make ice due to lack of air in the water. When cleaning we do clean the coil. Be careful when cleaning this as you don’t want to bend the fine coils. I used a straw brush and can of air. We do this about every 3 months.Last night it stopped making ice and the lights began to flash. I unplugged to let it sit. When I plugged it back in it went through a cleaning cycle and than the lights began to flash again. I took the back off to clean the coils as it can get quit dusting inside. I’ve got it all out back together and I’m letting it sit so the refrigerant will settle before I run the vinegar through it. The reservoir had floaters and the reservoir filter was. Yes I do clean the reservoir filter often. If this doesn’t work I’m at a loss.

So far I love it!
I have only had this a few days but love it so far! I opted for this machine instead of the Opal Because that one had some questionable reviews as far as customer service was concerned. This was a bit cheaper too. It is super easy to use and clean. I don’t love the white and would prefer if it were black or stainless to match my other appliances, but that was not available. It makes ice regularly and the ice is the kind of ice that kind of compresses with a good bite to it when you bite into it. I do wish it held more water but it is easy enough to fill. To fill, you just pull the ice basket out and add water to the fill line. Easy peasy! It does make noise but it is pretty quiet and I seldom notice, kind of a very low hum. My favorite thing to use with the ice is iced coffee. I fill my cup with ice, add my coffee , creamer and cinnamon and nutmeg and stir. It is instantly cold and delicious. Also, when I make fresh iced tea, I start by adding sugar to my pitcher, then some water and slosh it around to dissolve. Then, I add tons of the ice and pour my hot tea over the ice, top with water and it is so good! If you aren’t doing your sweet tea this way, try it, it does make a difference in how sweet it tastes and the flavor. Having a farm, we work outside a lot and I can see where we will get so much use out of this ice maker. Also, once you’ve taken some of the ice out, if you push the ice to the front of the machine it will make even more because the sensors think there is less ice than when it is all in the basket evenly. Enjoy!Update- we have had this ice maker for I think two months now. We still love it! We are a family of four and my refrigerator ice maker just could not keep up with the amount of ice we use. We have a farm and work outside in the Georgia heat and humidity regularly so we go through the ice! This machine has no problem keeping up with our use! My daughter makes herself an iced coffee with the ice every morning on the way to college and I make one for myself every morning as well utilizing this ice. Once the ice gets wet, it doesn’t have that bite as much as it does straight out of the machine, but it is perfect for all of our beverages. I do wish I had the line connected to my refrigerator so I didn’t have to refill it with water so frequently, but again we use so much ice so refilling if not connected to a water line is going to be needed, but it is worth it.The little plastic scoop gets lost in the ice. I wish it had a place on the exterior of the machine to hold the scoop so you didn’t have to dig through the ice to find it. I just traded the scoop out for a cute metal one that is a bit bigger and like it because it is larger. I just lay the scoop in front of the machine. There are sensors in the machine and when it is full it stops making the ice. Therefore, when I get ice, I pull all the ice to the front side of the machine so that the machine will sense there is more room to make more ice. Also, I tried bagging the ice for the freezer but it stuck together in big clumps so if you plant o do this, maybe there is another way. All in all I’m very pleased with the machine. I still wish it wasn’t white. Where the water is held , in the bottom, is slightly discolored and I’m assuming it is from minerals, etc. I’m the water. I truly wish black was an option! Everyone that comes over asks about my machine, where I got it and wants the good ice!
