Ekwb waterloop
Easy to install into existing loop for cpu upgrade. Does what it's supposed to do.

Double check the block - decide on positioning
This block is working great. Installed about 1 month ago and has been fine. The block idles at about 31c-34c and on load is about +10c. It's cooling an i9 13900KS overclocked on an ROG hero. Just pick your positioning before you go to town on setting it up.

Amazing Cooling Performance
Out of all of my water blocks, this one was the best out of them all keeping my 12900k at 30c-40c idle, and below 80c on heavy load. Also amazing RGB Effects

Keep my core I9 cool!
Overclocked core I9 never once have my attempts been anywhere over 60° C when stress testing.

It works well
With regard to: EKWB EK-Quantum Velocity 2 CPU Water Block D-RGB - 1700, Nickel/Plexi: Compared to an AIO, a custom loop will always be more difficult to install maintain than any other cooling solution and this cooling block is no exception. In particular this block is harder that most to install because the block fasteners are accessed from the bottom side of the mother board. You really need to have a reasonable torque wrench/driver to tighten the block properly. I used this from Amazon: "FIRSTINFO H5178 Precision Certified Torque Limiting Screwdriver" to tighten the fasteners. It's a good one. Consider the purchase price of this tool to be part of the cost of building a custom loop. Once installed, this block works quite well, better than any I've used in the recent past. I must mention that the thermostat in my home is set to 28C but even so, this block handily out-performs any AIO I've tried. In my case, the best AIO I tried was getting to 100C at a reported CPU power of 335+ watts with Cinebench R23 and OCCT Power stress test. With this cooler, said stress tests do not exceed 90C and in games, it is never more than about 65C and never exhibits any thermal/power throttling. So it is at least 10C better than all others I have tried. Also, the overall loop is very quiet; even at full load, it is barely audible. This is partly because with a custom loop you can use a much bigger radiator with larger, slower fans all of which is quite important for noise. The build quality of this block is quite good and is aesthetically pleasing though it uses D-RGB and many boards do not support D-RGB explicitly. My board, an Asus Rog Strix z790-E has connectors that might work but I didn't want to risk damaging the board to test this. I am not a fan of RGB so I just removed the strip entirely; it's easy to do, a good riddance and I didn't look back. I do recommend this block though you might want to consider a "Watercool HEATKILLER IV PRO CPU Water Block" which has equivalent or better performance and is actually a bit less expensive.

Oc to 5.8ghz- under 90* stress test 👌
Follow instructions and it'll work. First block to ever run +4 oc under 90c in ada 64.

Nice block but hard to use
This is the newest block from EKWB and it looks great on my new Z690 formula. However as you can see from the pictures the block tension screws are delicate. I am not a water cooling noob and have been doing this for 15+ years. I can still remember the old mounting systems were mounting pressure was key to adequate cooling and there were endless discussions on how to adequately calibrate the pressure. Then we got the current mounting systems were mounting pressure is controlled by springs. You bottom out the cap and the spring provides a reliable pressure and auto leveling. This one goes back to the old days. You have to be very careful on how much pressure you apply. The springs on this block are too small to regulate the pressure and level. It is therefore up to the user to ensure adequate pressure. I did not apply significant pressure during mounting and followed the recommendations of using the Allen key upright. It never bottomed out but as you can see one of the tension screws broke. EK is a great company and when contacted offered to send me a replacement screw. However the way this block is designed I would be very careful when mounting as it can potentially bend the pins on the motherboard. Ek has a graduated torque screwdriver for this at 20 dollars. I would do light handtightening or use the torque screwdriver. I don’t think it is safe to mount otherwise. In my opinion this should be included with the block despite the extra cost. I have already ordered one for when I get my replacement. By the way a proper adjustable torque screwdriver capable of this little pressure will run between 70 and 600 dollars depending on the quality. Hope this helps potential buyers. I would still buy this block again, it is just very different from the blocks that have been the standard for the last 10 years and not as safe or easy to mount.

Used sold as “New”
I was very disappointed to find the packaging already opened. Upon inspection, there was residual clear coolant inside the water block. All the plastic had been removed and put back on. The thermal plate underneath looked like thermal paste was once applied and other items were missing out of the packaging.
