Gempler's Rust Converter - Quart

I was working on my old 80's John Deere 420 garden tractor and the battery pan was rusted badly. When my order arrived, I removed and wire wheeled the battery tray and then brushed on a coat. As soon as it dried, I could tell it made a huge difference. It looked as if I painted it black. I did two more coats at about 1 hour intervals while letting it sit in the sun before I put it aside for a day. They recommend two days to fully cure but I didn't have that much time. Then I hit it with a few coats of spray paint (oil based) and it looks as good as new! I definitely recommend.

I've been using this stuff for decades. Knock the loose rust scale off with a broom and spray on Rust Converter and it make solid black, very sturdy primer. It is also weather proof. I use it restoring old cars and odd jobs.

Wow what a product I can't believe how great this is if properly used right then it works amazing I used it on my truck and it was pretty bad on my rockers and cab frame i sprayed and then brushed it in let it dry and wow it worked so good I'm happy I can get my truck lined out before it gets any worse and now I have zero worried I'm now basically rust free Thanks

This stuff is better and cheaper than any other rust converter product I have used. I restored an entire trailer with a half a quart of this stuff. For bigger projects, I put it in a garden sprayer to apply and then brush on.

Applied it to a rusty iron wheel. Looks good. Haven't painted over it yet.

Just order my second bottle. I wanted to test it first before purchasing the full amount.I am stripping a black metal fence. It is 14 years old and has several rust spots. I did use a wire brush on my angle grinder so knock off loose paint and to remove any lose rust. I am about halfway through the first bottle and I have done maybe 40 ft of fence so far. It seems to work very well. In fact the worse the rust was (within reason) the better the product performed. I have some areas very superficial rust. In these areas it did not turn completely black. In areas where the rust is more pronounced, it change the rust to a hard black coating.It goes on easily. I used a small paint pan and a 1 inch brush for my application. It is about the consistency of say Almond milk. It will drip, but it if you don't load up your brush too much I did not have much of a dripping problem. Time will tell how long it lasts, but my first impression is very good. I will come back and update this review should it's longer term performance be subpar.

Used in a spray bottle on leaf springs and axles. Existing rust turned into a hard plastic like coating. Very happy captain!

Works great, a little elbow grease makes it all the worthwhile, my advice is to just follow the instructions and you won’t be disappointed
