Lola Plants a Garden (Lola Reads)

This book is absolutely precious! The illustrations are beautiful. The downside is that I was hoping for a book about the process of gardening - digging, planting, watering, etc. This book is about a child wanting to grow a garden, decorating it to make it special, and enjoying it with her friends. The process is literally just “Lola and Mommy make the garden,” and then the sprouts come up. It’s still sweet and wonderful but not precisely what I was looking for. My 2.5yo son loves it though!

I bought my now 2 year old boys Leo Can Swim when we were starting swim class last summer and it was very accurate to what they would be experiencing. When we decided to start a garden this spring I wanted to get another book they could relate to. I was so happy when this book appeared in my search. I love that it shows how Lola and her mom interact and work together on the projects and the steps it takes to grow a garden. The boys loved Leo and now they love Lola.

I'm obsessed! I will be buying more from the collection. The illustrations are so cute. Simple and short, but longer than I expected - perfect for my toddler who just turned 2. I purchased the hardcover because paperbacks will never survive my child LOL. Why do the Spanish versions of the hardcovers have to cost so much more? 😭

My kids love this book it’s on repeat in my class the children can relate and started telling me the story with their own wants in gardening. So cute. Recommend any day.

Everytime a new Lola story comes out, we buy it. All the books are very sweet. Colorful pictures to keep your little one engaged and fun to read for parents. We just added a little boy to our family, I’m looking forward to add all the Leo books to our collection.

I recently introduced my Granddaughter to gardening. This book is a must buy. The illustrations are beautiful and my granddaughter loves seeing a little girl garden like her. Great addition to your toddlers bookshelf.

Props for illustration and brown character

I love the Lola series of books. I love the fact that the character is black as I've found it hard to find children books for my kids that contain characters that look like them. I wish more books like this one existed and that they were easier to find!!These are sweet and very positive books. My kids love them.
