I installed one in a Hunter fan and it worked fine. It's generic so it should work...it is just a switch. God luck with yours.

am trying to replace a switch from an old attic fan. the switch is rated 4a- 250 v.a.c. and 8 a- 125 v.a.c with 1/3 hp..should this unit work?

If you look at the manufactures ratings. 3A-250V. 6A-125v. 3A-125V-AC-L. I would not recommend you use it for your application.

Does this switch definately come with pigtails and NOT push in connections?

Is there a fourth position for the power in that is not showing? Is there a wiring diagram included with the switch?

I'm not sure I'm understanding your question, but here is what I think you are asking. There are 4 pull positions. 1) The black wire is not connected to either the red or the blue; 2) Black and blue are connected; 3) black and red are connected; 4) black is connected to both red and blue. This is useful for a ceiling fan/light combination, where 1=off; 2=light on; 3=fan on; 4=both light and fan are on. I don't remember if a wiring diagram is included, but it is easy to check with an ohmmeter. Hope this helps.
