Nippon Labs NL-ST0022A 2.5" & 3.5" SATA I/II/III USB 3.0 USB3.0 to SATA Duo Docking Station

Works great under Windows 10, except it frequently disconnects. For simple file operations that's not a big issue, but if you're using it to evaluate a mountain of old hard drives its quite frustrating.Using Ubuntu (linux) is even more annoying. It's not recognized when connecting it via a USB 3 connection, and connecting to a USB 2 is much slower. Its probably a driver (kernel) issue but I've no idea how to get an improved driver. If anyone knows how send me a message.......

I've definitely had less terrible devices but I paid next to nothing for this. Under $20. And I don't want to replace it just because I don't like it. I don't. I feel like a lot of its issues could be fixed with a better PSU and I might do that. Pretty sure there's USB C to barrel plug 12V cables that could fix this for $5.

This is a really good one... two main things... my sys took a long time tto identify it and install the drivers..... also, for some odd reason, it "disconnects" if it isn't being used for 20-30 minutes. REALLY nice feature, though.. doesn't matter which slot you use, unlike some.P.S. This unit does NOT do self-cloning... eg, drop 2 drives in and have one clone the other.

Really nice docking station, plug it into a USB and you are ready to go! I'm using it to test old internal drives, solid, dependable does what it needs to do!

This dock is performing precisely as I had expected. Handsome design and good quality coupled with a nice price.

Worked for a few minutes and then hard disks plugged in would disappear while using. Did this repeatedly. Dang.
