Mayday pouch emergency water is easy to fit in your backpack with a 5 yr. shelf life
These pouches fit in your backpack or bug out bag so there is no water bottle to lug around. The 50 count box measures 12.5" x 12.5" x 4.5". I ordered two 50 count boxes on 05/25. The cases I received were dated 02/25 and 03/25, and I'm good with that and the fact they have a 5 year shelf life. I know a few people who keep them on their boats just for the long shelf life and easy storage size.

It's literally bags of water!
They're bags of water. They don't hold much water, about 4 pouches will be required to fill a typical drinking glass, but if you're using these, they're to keep you alive, not comfortable. The pouch recommends four pouches / day, but if you're sweating or in a very dry climate, expect to increase that. The water tastes just fine. They say five-year shelf life but I'm going to guess they'll last vastly longer than that as nothing will really break down. The pouches are pretty durable and the rubbery plastic inner liner is thick and strong (which can make tearing it open a bit of a challenge). The pouches have enough internal spare volume to easily freeze with room to spare, so they shouldn't burst. However, if you're storing these water pouches yourself somewhere without climate control, remember that ice expands just under 10%. So basically, if you think the water might freeze, for every ten pouches, leave one pouch worth of volume free. Otherwise, they will almost certainly rupture their seams when freezing. While experimenting with ways to store the water for survival kits, I loaded up a .50 cal ammo can in two different ways and then put the can in my freezer. You can store ten pouches sandwich-style, and you can store eleven pouches stacked. You can actually fit twelve pouches stacked in their liquid form and still have room for the lid to close (eleven frozen pouches occupies the exact same volume as twelve liquid ones), but if the can will be exposed to freezing temperatures for more than a night, they will almost certainly blow up. You should be okay if you only experience overnight freezes (like if you live in a high desert). All in all, this box was the best value on Amazon so I went for it. I only wish the crimped edges of the pouches were a bit smaller, some of them are almost half an inch wide and it introduces more challenges to storage. I'm using them for small survival kits in a disaster and something for my car. If you're looking for home emergency water supply, these aren't very efficient, you should be using large gallon containers instead.

Perfect for earthquake or disaster kits
You can never be too prepared! These are great. I recommend keeping a few in your car as they do not get affected by extreme heat the way regular water bottles do.

Very good value, durable, temperature resistant
So I buy these generally every 4 years or so to stock up the emergency supplies for the house. Some go in the cars, some go in the evacuation kits. I know a LOT of people look at these and say "why pay so much" when you could get bigger bottles of water at the store. And the answer is durability. The cheap store bottled waters deform, tear, and leak at the drop of a hat. Plus, if frozen when full, they tend to split at the seems or the top. Historically I have frozen a few of these (cold car, cold day) and still had them usable. That's not always what they're rated for, but my personal experience. So these are a moderately priced option in the field of certified water, the packs are durable, and at a 50 pack for $20 US, far better priced than the ones you normally find included in pre-assembled packs.

Compact and sturdy
I bought these 4 oz packages to add to my emergency stash. There are plenty of potential places to put these packets since they don't have the bulk of bottled water. The dimensions of the box that holds all the 4oz servings make it easy to keep in any size vehicle. A pair of scissors or a Swiss army knife will be necessary to open the little bags. Granted it isn't much water, 6 ounces might have been a better choice. In many regards, they should resist puncture and breaking better than plastic water bottles, especially now that these are being filled nearly to the top. The packets themselves can easily fit into backpacks or any size plastic container. These would also be excellent backup for a small to average size dog. By all appearances, the foil pack will survive better than an individual water bottle. The shelf life is five years so you don't have to change them out for fresh very often. Yes they're small but when you consider long-term storage of emergency water these packs are sturdy, easy to store and likely to be there if you need them.

You NEED this!
I bought a few boxes of these some time ago. Put them in the back of the closet and forgot about them. Cleaning out the closet yesterday I see the two boxes and I decide to open a packet to taste test. You know what? Tasted like good water!
