Cannot come up with an easier way to track usage hours this thing is great

Bought this for my motorized bicycle and it works amazing. That’s all you do is wrap the tach wire around your spark plug wire a few times and I taped it with electrical tape to hold it. Then you pick the firing order (2 stroke or 4 stroke) It turns itself on as soon as the motor starts. It’s great.

Worked semi properly until my machine got rained on then it just says random numbers on the screen. The rpm were never correct. I done what the instructions said to select the amount of cylinders the engine has. It was always off by like 500 rpm at all times.

This was super fast and easy to install. Just mounted it on the control box of my sawmill and wrapped the wire around the engine spark plug wire as instructed.I got this so I can tell what the engine speed is when wearing hearing protection and running another engine for a hydraulic system.This gives me a general idea. It fluctuates a bit but it gives me at least a general idea of the engine speed of my sawmill so I can dial it in. My sawmill is all push button and automatic so I need to know the engine speed through a cut.Looks like this is sealed tho and you cannot change the battery when it dies. Should be a couple years tho at least, I hope.
