These Timers are not automatic. You have to set it up yourself. The timers are loud in ringing. I love these timers. You will not regret it if you decided to buy it. I have one in the kitchen, living room, bathrooms. It really is worth to buy these wonderful timers. Good Luck!

It beeps when time is up. Beeping stops when stop button in depressed. Depress the button again and time automatically goes back to preset time.

Does this timer come with a lanyard for hanging?

Frankly, I do not remember of seeing a lanyard. There is a loop there where you can put a lanyard or string or whatever you want to use. Good Luck!
