I have used this spreader for planting grass seed on several bare spots in two lawns. This spreader is excellent for that purpose. If you want to concentrate the seed on a number of bare patches of lawn, this one gives you that control instead of spreading seed generally over a 10 to 15 foot area in a scattershot manner.The spreader is lightweight yet sturdy and easy to handle, I easily seeded a couple of dozen spots in my Mother's back yard lawn. Done in 10-15 minutes.If you are applying lawn fertilizer, the spreader that Scott's makes with the hand crank for spreading it evenly is best for spreading it over an entire small to medium sized lawn. I have both types of spreaders.

I ordered this for spreading the DE in my yard,,, for pests. Makes it very easy, so much more evenly spread than grabbing handfuls and wasting product.Love it. Great value.

In a rental that has broken glass shards ALL over my backyard. Paid to have pine needles removed. And found tons more broken glass. Landlord REFUSES to even address the issue. Even SAID that "it wasn't there/visible 10 days prior to YOU moving in"!!😳 Anyhoo, just trying TO PROTECT my babies feet!!🐾🐾 It works with several different sized openings at the top, easy to use and easy to clean!! I do NOT recommend if you have an ENTIRE yard/lawn to spread grass seed or even fertilizer, whatever!! But for smaller, little areas?? It's perfect!!👌 Especially for the price!!❤️😁

I have a really long driveway that needs to be salted whenever it snows. We used to use an old plastic bowl to spread salt, but I upgraded this winter to this product. Such a time saver!This holds a lot of product and it’s easy to use. The salt is dispersed in an even way (unlike when I used the plastic bowl!) and helps us save on salt use. I like the small scoop that is included to help fill the container.

I love my new rock salt spreader! It arrived the next day and was immediately put to use just in time for a snowstorm. I was able to salt my entire driveway. It’s made of nice quality, sturdy plastic and the holes are big enough to shake the rock salt out. It fits perfectly in one-hand when full. It’s definitely worth the price. I’m a satisfied customer.

A bit expensive considering what it is, but it’s very useful.

I needed to add some weed killer/fertilizer to my lawn, but didn’t want to spend a lot of money to spread it out. I also don’t have the space to store a common spreader in my garage. This item spreads really well and easy to use.

I have been using this to lay grass seed and I really like how I can totally control exactly how much seed to lay out. I wish it was larger so I can hold more seed, and it really needs a handle or something on the bottom that I can get a good grip on when twisting on the cap. I also had a hard time getting the cap to align or there are times I am not sure if I am even putting it on correctly. I wish there was some type of way to make it easier to get the cap on, perhaps color coded arrows to line things up or something. Maybe they can release a newer model later with these improvements.
