Well, I learned to knit in a day. The book is hard to understand and the photos are in black and white. The video links are great but only teach you how to do the basic stich, no videos for the projects themselves. Like I said, I learned how to knit and it came with all of the necessary materials, but for the price I could have just bought needles and yarn and looked at YouTube videos. Also the project instructions mention basic sewing stitches that would have totally confused me had I not had general knowledge of sewing. Overall it gets the job done, but left me wanting a bit more.

This kit is well thought out and perfect for that beginning child or adult. The presentation is perfect for gifting - bright and cheerful, too. I liked that this kit uses a pretty color wool as a teaching fiber, as that is a better fiber to learn on in my opinion and what I learned on. The bamboo needles are basic but they get you started and allow the right size stitch for learning. That's important. The printed instructions are very good but the video link is excellent and user friendly. (We all love a great video and teacher for presenting new skills.) Rudimentary techniques are carefully taught and it would be hard not to understand the concept(s) they are teaching. Not overwhelming for a novice - just enough. This kit will definitely get you started knitting and build confidence so you can grow and explore how wonderful the knitting world can be...on to shawls, hats, and simple garments for all your friends. Great creative looping fun linking us back to other humans sometime between 500 AD and the 12th century when it all began. My friend's daughter will enjoy this kit and perhaps teach her friends - another knitting circle begins.

This is a great kit, and for this 66 year old beginner- I'm thrilled to say I'm FINALLY knitting! The booklet and particularly the videos have been extremely helpful for me. The pace of the video is fairly slow, but the clarity and enthusiasm of the demonstrator is perfect- she is good at repeating the task so we can always keep up. For anyone who has wanted to learn to knit - from 8 to 80- this CraftLab kit is a great product! (Love the color of the yarn, too!)

The instructional videos were excellent in walking you through the steps to learn to knit. I was frustrated at first, but the book reassures you that you will make mistakes and it just takes practice. It was a lot of fun!

I get better instructions from YouTube the instructions are a joke and the yarn is even worse
