Initially, these hooks looked TOO heavy, without enough gap. And they seemed smaller that the stated size. 8/0 is usually a pretty big hook, but this 8/0 looked more like a 4/0 in size.But, these bigger hooks DO catch fish! My daughter landed a 70 pound blue on the biggest hook, and I've caught dozens on the medium sized hooks. I don't really use the smallest circle hooks, even for the smallest of catfish and small baits, I still want at least a 2/0 hook.From the looks of them and in practice, I can't imagine that you could ever break these hooks. If you're fishing giant baits, like half of a skipjack, even the biggest in the kit is too small. But if you like a typical 4/0 to 6/0, these are great hooks.

These hooks appear to be very strong as the wire is thick. Points are sharp and finish is a polished black. I need to find larger or easier split rings, as kit I bought are very difficult to attach.

In the 3/0 to 6/0 size this is the perfect, small live bait hook. Pinfish and finger mullet can be attached and thrown with very little damage to the bait. Plus the barb will keep the bait and your catch on the hook.
