Gear up for an invigorating run with this flexible and supportive running shoe from ASICS. In 1949, Mr. Kihachiro Onitsuka began his athletic footwear company (Onitsuka Co., Ltd.) by manufacturing basketball shoes out of his living room in Kobe, Japan. He chose the name ASICS for his company in 1977, based on a famous Latin phrase "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano," which, when translated, expresses the ancient ideal of "A Sound Mind in a Sound Body." Taking the acronym of this phrase, ASICS was founded on the belief that the best way to create a healthy and happy lifestyle is to promote total health and fitness. Today, ASICS offers a full line of performance-driven athletic shoes and technical active sports apparel and accessories dedicated to bringing harmony to the body and soul. Review: Great for walking - I've worn several older versions of the ASICS GT series, but my last couple pair of running shoes were New Balance and Nike. Nothing wrong with either of those, but the ASICS GT just seems to fit my feet better. My feet measure as a 10.5, C width, with low arches and a skinny heel, and these fit my feet perfectly in a size 11D. I tried a 10.5D and an 11.5D in a local store, but they did not have an 11D in stock. I found this pair on desertcart and got the free shipping deal. They arrived a day earlier than promised and in great condition. I walk about 4 miles a day, and these GT 2000 2's are perfect for my needs. I do not run much anymore, but have done some light jogging in them (I am a forefoot striker) and they work great for that, too. They have plenty of cushion with just the right amount of stability. I cannot comment on wear yet, but the shoes appear to be very high quality, as the stitching is perfect with no visible glue like you see with some other brands. They aren't exactly cheap, but are competitive within their class. With spring finally here, I hope to give them a good workout over the next few months! Review: My go-to shoes - This is my third pair of GT-2000s. I retired the previous one after 430 very enjoyable miles, mostly on hard surfaces. I had been experiencing some minor knee pain with my very old (probably 10 years) New Balance shoes, and switched to ASICS a couple of years ago, as I began ramping up my weekly distance to my current 25 miles. The pain disappeared right away with the shoe change. I bought my first pair at a large sports retailer, then, after about 300 miles, went to a running specialty shop to see if there was anything better. They looked at my wear pattern and watched me run, then told me the ASICS would work just fine for me. For regular training, I can't imagine anything better. They're comfortable, give a good ride, have just the right amount of heel support and cushioning. As I approach 70 years, I am a lot more conscious of taking care of my joints. These certainly do the trick. One change that I did make for my second pair: I had been wearing a size 12, which was comfortable. I went up half a size, to 12.5, because our feet swell a bit when we run. That was a worthwhile change--the added bit of room in the toe box makes long runs much nicer (and, I think, faster).

My go-to shoes
This is my third pair of GT-2000s. I retired the previous one after 430 very enjoyable miles, mostly on hard surfaces. Good Pair of Running Shoes
I wasn't sure if I needed to order a 10.5 M or a 10.5 that was a bit larger. I decided to go with the 10.5 M but found the shoe to be a bit tight re: the width. Length is no problem. I found that I while I wear a size 10 dress shoe, that I wear a half size larger in a running shoe. Despite the slightly narrower size, I am able to jog in these shoes with no issue (3 to 4 miles most days). I also walk in them (2+ miles several days a week). They are still fairly comfortable and give the support I need for jogging or walking. I have been using ASICS running shoes for several years, so I know that this is a good running shoe that holds up well. My only problem is that I put too many miles on a pair of shoes before breaking down and purchasing a new pair! I don't use these shoes for anything besides exercise. I would probably find them uncomfortable to wear them all day. The shoes are also nice and light, which is something else I like in a shoe.

Comfortable Enough for Daily Wear
Good fit and a great price. These are my daily wear shoes at work and they are comfortable. Several reviewers said they run slightly small. I normally wear 9.5D and that's what I bought. They were a little snug at first but they are brand new shoes and it took a few days to break them in. A 1/2 size larger would have been too big. A similar pair of ASICS lasted me 3 years and I only replaced them because the toes wore holes. I read a trick in one review of putting a strip of duct tape on the inside toe area and so that's what I did with these new shoes. I will see if it works.

Very Good
Great shoe. I have run in many different shoes over the years, and this one does the job for my overpronation issues. It just fits right. Good cushioning and a great feel when running on both the road and the treadmill. Much better than the recent Brooks Adrenaline I had been running in. I had also been running in Saucony Omni 12's , but I think the 8mm drop was causing me tightness in my calves. It feels as good underfoot as the Kayano 20, which is crazy overpriced. And the best part - paid a little over $60 for these as the GT-2000 3 have just come out so these are on clearance. Great price - great feel - great colors. I look forward to running many miles in these shoes.

With Superfeet Insert, They're Just Right
I love the ASICS GT series. I'm a woman but have size 10+ feet and have to get the men's ASICS for the best fit. I get the newest version every year -- by which time my old ones are starting to get holes, as I do a lot of hiking and walking in them. I have hiked (even backpacked) in tennis shoes for decades, but I need just the right shoe to do it in. These ASICS are great for a range of surfaces -- the lateral stability is the best I've found in a running shoe. The toe box is bigger than in a women's shoe, and the men's sizes are all around more accommodating especially for later in a hike when my foot swells a little. The one thing is that I need better arch supports than the shoe provides, so I take out the insole provided and wear them with green Superfeet insoles.

I'll keep 'em and wear 'em
I'll try not to repeat mush of what has been previously written, but three caveats: 1. Skepticism of shoe reviews (and shoe) should rule the day. Feet are unique and what works for me may not work for you. What follows is unique to my feet. 2. Like others, I am a long term wearer of the 2100 series and felt the 2000 was a disappointment, especially in comparison to the 2140 and 2170 (in my book, the two best 2100's). 3. Increasingly, manufacturers of athletic shoes are moving to "neutral" shoes; for those of us over-pronators, choices are dwindling. This review will compare and contrast with the 2100's and the Mizuno Wave Inspires (I favor the 9 over the 10). While the toe box MAY be a bit smaller than the 2100's, not much (more a bit later), In contrast to others, I do not find the cushioning in either the fore- or mid-foot approaches either any 2100's or Wave Inspires. Upper body is lighter than any 2100 (although less so than the Wave Inspires). I believe the mid-foot is narrower than my 2100 2E's (and the Wave Inspire 2E's) and it is likely this issue, extending into the fore-foot, that makes the volume of the latter less. However, I have a chronic tendinitis (more correctly, "tendinosis") of the lateral tendons, and I find the "enveloping" of the mid-foot to be the key reason to keep this shoe; it does provide "security" and significant comfort to these tendons. Do I like this shoe as much as the 2100's (now impossible to find in my size)? No. Would I replace my Wave Inspire 9's with this shoe? No (but do like the 2000-2's better than the Wave Inspire 10). Cushioning throughout the sole is less than any of the aforementioned (although vastly better than equivalent Brooks). Will I wear this shoe? You bet; the enveloping of my aging tendons send their thanks to Asics.

Solid Shoe, Recommended
I've come back to the GT 2000 a few times over the years, especially as I get closer to major races like marathons and ultras. I got the last pair shortly before doing two 50k races 8 days apart, and they held up surprisingly well. I'm prone to shin splints, so I need running shoes with a lot of support. The only pain I had after the races was some patellar tendon issues (front of the knee), primarily when walking up and down stairs, so fairly standard stuff and I recovered quickly so I can race again next month. The shoe handles well, even if you take them on trails. You may need a different shoe if you have other issues, like wide feet, or if your gait is wonky. Also, get another pair in another style that works for you (I like the Nimbus). A lot of injuries occur because novice runners don't swap shoes between runs.

Juste ce que je cherchais
ayant eu pleine satisfaction avec ces chaussures par le passé et ne les trouvant plus dans le commerces car ce modèles a au moins 2 ans.... Ces chaussures me conviennent parfaitement. Seul le prix est bien élevé pour un modèle ancien.
