Wonderful Recording
Great CD recording. Most of these I have never heard before as Demis was a popular artist in Europe and not really in the United States. I do remember the song "That Once In a Lifetime" that was popular for a short time here. I did see him perform one time on a variety show and thought he was very good. I had been looking for a single or an album but I had never seen one after the television performance. I came across quite a few YouTube videos that I liked and decided to buy this CD.

Sounds of Home, for some of us anyway
Got this right after I learned of his death and it does bring back the memories -- sweet voice, melodic, big orchestration -- real Europop sound as it came over public space, department store, etc speakers. (Not clubs!) If you lived in Europe in the '70s and '80s especially, this kind of folky-poppy sound, in various languages, sounds like home, not challenging. Nice. Pity he has left us so soon.

Love songs with rock style
My background is Scorpions, Dio, ledd zeppelin, Pink floyd, Iron Maiden, jimmy hendrix,,and lots of others. Lots of rock bands are redundant but this guy is unique. If you want to play nice romantic music and just chill (no heavy stuff) and you want it to be rock at the same time then this is for you.

Definitely for Demis Roussos lovers!
So glad that some of Demis' music was released after his death. I looked for CD's last summer and could find none. The quality of the recording is great as well.

His music of the 70s and 80s
This Greek singer (actually born in Egypt) originally became popular in mainland Europe originally as lead singer of Aphrodite's child, but this compilation focuses on Demis's solo music of the seventies and eighties.Demis had tried to reach the UK in 1971 to record his music, but failed to get a work permit so used France as a base instead. Throughout the seventies and eighties, it appears that he remained popular in France, but his popularity varied in other European countries. In Germany, he had four top ten hits between 1973 and 1975, two sung in English (Goodbye my love goodbye, My friend the wind) and two sung in German(Schones Madchen Aus Arcadia, Schon Wie Mona Lisa). all included here.In the UK, he had a top 5 hit in 1975 with Happy to be on an island in the sun, then had a #1 hit in 1976 with an EP, the main track of which was Forever and ever (previously a huge hit in some European countries in 1973) while another track (My friend the wind) had also been a huge European hit in 1973). Although not listed as a hit anywhere, a third track from the EP (So dreamy) is here along with the hits. The EP was followed in the UK by When forever has gone, which became a #2 hit. In Europe, this had been a 1974 B-side to With you, a lesser hit in Holland and Belgium.Though apparently not a UK hit, I certainly remember hearing another song (My only fascination) on the radio in those days. It made #6 in France and #11 in both Holland and Belgium. All those hits and others are on the first CD here. The second CD contains the best of his music from 1977 to 1990, which wasn't the most successful in his career. Nevertheless, the music is still worth a listen, and includes his solitary American hit, That once in a lifetime, which apparently wasn't a hit in Europe.Covers of the wedding song (Harry Nilsson), Lost in love (Air Supply) and Summerwine (Lee Hazlewood) are among the tracks I didn't know about before buying this set, and they are all duets, though Florence Warner is uncredited on the Air Supply cover. This is an excellent compilation, though if you only want his UK hits, a single CD wiil suffice.TracksCD 11. This record is a good collection of his works and was enjoyable
I decided to delve into the world of Demis Roussos following his untimely death. This record is a good collection of his works and was enjoyable, although only a handful of the songs were familiar to me.
