Better than old-school, but not rubberized
I purchased these scissors to help my preschooler learn how to cut properly, but I have learned they are also beneficial in helping my kindergartener who thought she knew how to cut already. By cutting together, she is learning the subtle differences between cutting straight and cutting on a curve.I recall using a set of scissors similar to these in the 1980s which were rubberized and could only be used by either left or right hand. You needed a second pair in order to accommodate left-handed students. These are far superior in that respect as they may be used by either dominant hand. I only wish these newer scissors were also rubberized in the handle.

Excellent teaching tool for cutting properly.
The child size holes are on the small side intended more for 2 & 3 year olds. I wish they were a little larger. I teach Montessori pre-school & Kindergarteners so I’m keeping them to help with my youngest students. Other than the size, I would highly recommend these for anyone that’s looking for help when teaching young children how to cut properly. Careful though, they are sharper than normal children’s scissors!

Helpful
My two year old granddaughter can craft with her big sister and cousins. These scissors are easy to use with a child. I do need to remind her where her little thumb and fingers need to be. Together we say…Open, close as we cut.

I've always found these to help with those fine motor skills
These will help with scissor training. As an ex teacher, I've always found these to help with those fine motor skills. Scissor cutting is one of the harder things for littles to conquer. Using these training scissors, helps them get a grasp on the correct way to hold scissors and learn how to "open & close" to make a cut.

Every kindergarten should have these for all students!
My son had some fine motor skill problems in Kindergarten. These scissors are a good pair to try. Every child with fine motor skill problems have different strengths in their hands, so not every product is for each one, but I tried them all to give my son the ability to build his strengths and to ensure his self esteem would not be affected just because he doesn't have the same abilities as the rest of his peers. I really really suggest all parents to buy the golf pencils too. They are #2 pencils and they are short and light so they have more control. I bought a huge box from Amazon and told the teacher to pass them out to all the students because they are size appropriate for little hands and helped even the children with their handwriting even if they did not fine motors skill problems.
