Not correct size = lopsided pens.
As others have mentioned, the rod is slightly undersized so the pen blank doesn’t fit perfectly in and after turning, you will have a slight lopsided piece. Try another product.

Lots of accessories, worth the money but not great
This kit comes with enough stuff that I won’t be returning it…BUT.My biggest gripe here is the rod for the bushings and blanks to sit on is bent, not a lot, but it’s bent. The final product ends up wonky due to this. The mill worked fine for me, as did the rest of the equipment. I wish the road was straight as I’ll need to go buy a new one. Still though, for all that you get, worth the money I think.

Very poor quality .
The jam nut that holds the rod straight is so poorly machined that the rod has some wiggle in it that makes it impossible to turn a pen of any quality. I won't buy another one of the same brand.

Great Value!
Could have ordered the same quality from Rockler or Woodcraft for substantially more money. Quality tool, and built to last. This is not a toy, but a real tool.

Adjustable
Works good, no problems thus far.

Not straight and doesn't tighten properly
Mandrel was bent upon arrival which I didn't notice until after the return period. In trying to use it, the metal rod slides it of the headstock so you can never get your blanks tight enough. I have not been able to make a single successful pen with this mandrel.
