This was a life saver for me. I am a 62 year old female who had a total knee replacement done 9 weeks ago. I was not sent home with nor was it even suggested to me by my orthopedic surgeon to use a cryocuff. My husband's PC actually suggested it 3 weeks post my surgery. I was have tremendous swelling and pain. This works extremely well and is easy to use. I even take it in the car when riding any distance and use it. We freeze small soda bottles and put those in with the water rather than use ice cubes. It keeps the water very cold much longer. I highly recommend this product and the price is unbelievable.

Rather unwieldy and expensive but effective

Simple and easy to use. Attach hose to jug, fill water to the line, add ice to the top, and put the insulator disc over the ice. While the jug is sitting for a few minutes, wrap pad around your knee. When your nice and comfortable, plug the hose into the pad, lift up the lid nozzle, and pick the jug up at least 15” to fill the pad. Count to 30 and feel the ice cold goodness wrap around your knee. Close the lid nozzle, put down the jug, and unplug the pad. It stays really cold for a good while, but if you feel like you need it colder attach the hose to the pad and put the jug in the floor. Open the lid nozzle and push “old” water out of the pad back into the jug. You’ll feel the pad deflate. Then lift the jug 15” and count to the 30 while the cold water shocks your knee. It’s simple and works well. I was skeptical at first because the parts sure as hell don’t cost much to make. But considering what a motorized machine costs I would say this thing is worth it. My orthopedic instructed 20 minutes of icing every 1-2 hours. Filling the pad once lasts a lot longer than 20 minutes. I would buy it again if I had to.
