Update: so we've had this a few years now and it's still going strong, just got back from a beach trip and it was swooping and soaring just as good as the day we got it, crashed it into the sea again and got stuck on a rock, managed to rescue it and it was fine and flying again soon as the strings were untangled , great kite, well worth the money!! I wasn’t expecting much from this kite as it was so cheap, we have a few single line kites that cost about the same that are pretty crappy and an old stunt kite that was much more expensive but now missing parts that was excellent to fly, this falls closer to the stunt kite by far! It’s very well made, flys beautifully and can take a beating too, on its maiden flight my daughter crashed it straight into the sea, it filled with water and sand and I thought it was probably game over but after a bit of rinsing it was back up and flying again, even survived a few more similar crashes. I’d have been happy with this purchase if it had been three times the cost.

Inexpensive Fun little parafoil stunt kite for strong wind
Background: I once was an aspiring kiteboarder. I read what I could and started with a delta stunt kite, then bought a Prism Tensor 3.1, almost 3 m wide. I figured out the routine of unpacking, setting up to fly it a few times. But as little as this 3.1 is, it was a beast. I made a mistake of letting my wife hold it for a second and it threw her on the ground faster than I could say "be careful". BE VERY CAREFUL in strong winds! If you cannot handle it, then it is strong wind! So I thought it would be fun to have a little kite that I can keep in the bottom of my backpack and pull it out when there is wind. I paid so little money and expect little. The first time, it barely flew in weak wind. The other day, Sunday, we went to the beach to get some air and I brought it. Did I mention it was small? The wind was better and it flew pretty well. Though I still think it does not go up high enough, seemed to have pretty narrow window and not much pull. But both wife and I had fun. Now what do I think? 1. Some experience with flying stunt kite flying is helpful. After unwinding the line, you need to know ONE knot to connect the fly lines to the bridles. Weigh down the trailing edge with some sand, walk back with the lines in each hand toward the straps, put your hands in. And then one pull and you are in business. If you do not know where to put down the straps, which way to lay your line, and kite, you might struggle a bit. With a bit of experience, or shown by someone, you can start having fun in a short time. But this is the same for all stunt kite. 2. Little kite needs wind - Unlike the big kites which does not need as much wind, the little ones do. This is great when the wind is too strong to be unsafe for the big ones but only became good for the little ones. This is not the fault of the kite, just the nature of things. 3. Adjustment not available as it is - I get the feeling if I can tweak the angle of attack a little I might be able to enjoy it in a lower wind. Although the one sheet instruction mentions adjustment, the method was for front-rear bridles and this kite has A-B-C 3 lines. Each ends with a loop to be tied together to be connected to the fly line. I think I need to rig up an adjustable setup with one on A-B and the other one to C. 4. Yes, changing the fly lines might improve the performance but .. you are putting more money on a cheap kite! 5. Quality.. The stitches are sound. It is not a Prism. The instruction is not as thorough. But for the amount of money it cost, the fun is no less than the Prism. I might be able to enjoy this thing with my family more carefree than the big kite. In conclusion, this Hengda 1.4 is an inexpensive little parafoil stunt kite in stronger wind condition for kite flyers of most ages and different skill level.

Great learning kite
I'm 45 years old and have loved flying kites since a young boy. Always wanted to try a 2 string kite but was afraid spending $70 or more on one. Mainly I knew that framed kites I would crash and break on first flight. This one is different it's a parafoil meaning no frame. It was tricky to get in air first time but after watching a few vids I was comfortable with it in light winds. It does fly in low steady winds, you use gentle movements to control. Get it it up there with winds 8 to 12 mph,and you will have a blast. The pull is about 15 to 25 lbs mid strong winds, but you will be able to do loops, and dives, and low passes. Great to add a tail to. I 've crashed this thing so much, dragged across gravel lots all the stitching is holding no holes and I yearn for the next windy day. If you want to learn 2 string kites this kite is a great starter and good value for the money!! I will be buying another

Choose something more expensive
It was broken when I received

You get what you pay for.
Nice looking kite. OK to fly in ultra perfect conditions. That said when compared to similar kites, it is much harder to control and keep fully inflated even in stronger winds. Terrible in light winds. Pay extra for a better kite.

Lots of fun!
I thought this looked fun so I decided to buy one. It is easy to fly and I was doing loops within a few minutes. Its good exercise too! Very well made.

Disappointing Experience – Hard to Launch and Use
Unfortunately, this kite didn’t meet expectations. The setup was frustrating—there were minimal instructions, the line was difficult to sort out, and the handles weren’t intuitive to use. I tried flying it in both low and moderate wind, but couldn’t keep it airborne. It would immediately veer off to one side and crash. This might work better for someone with more experience or in very specific conditions. All that said, It's possible that I just didn't know what I was doing.

Super Fun Kite
This kite is so much fun. It's like a video game when you're learning to play. I'm pretty good at it now and it's fun to watch my neighbors play with it and make the same mistakes I did when I first started. It really whips around and makes a cool sound. Crashes good and comes pre-assembled. Incredible value. I love it. I play with it like every week.
