I bought one masonry paint roller with the screw on base, one roller pan, and 14 foot extension rod that screws on to the paint roller. I Stood on the ground and painted the entire brick wall in about 2 hours!I paint rolled the Thompson water seal on the bricks from the top of the brick wall and down. I rolled my way down to the bottom of the wall. You can see it because of the white color. ONE GALLON equals ONE COAT 20 feet tall by 50 feet long. You can see the Thompson WS penetrate the bricks as a white color liquid that dries completely clear. The instructions say to apply ONE COAT and you must have 48 HOURS for the TWS to cure. THIS STUFF is so simple. "THE SECRET FORMULA" It is a WAX in the liquid. The WAX penetrates into the bricks and mortar and prevents any water from wetting your wall. Worked great. During Hurricane Irene my Brick wall was completely dry while all my neighbors Brick walls were soaking wet from the long downpour. This product probably is not effective on wood like the other reviewer mentioned. Unless your wood is porous. You should test the surface first by applying it to a small area. If the TWS soaks into the surface I would recommend it. Here is the catch, once you water proof the area, you can not remove the water proof, it is permanent. BUT, TWS is totally invisible when it dries. SO, the stuff is great for water proofing outdoor walls against water penetration. I RATE THOMPSON WATER SEAL GREAT FOR STORMS.

Product is OK, and spout is OK if you're going to use all six gallons at once, and work from a large container. Spout is a real pain if you're working from a standard roller tray; it's difficult to keep the product going where you want it to go (in the tray). We'll have to wait and see if it lasts long enough to justify the expense.

Wish I would have read reviews before buying a 6 gal jug. They changed the original formula which was great stuff. This stuff is horrible-awful-nasty. Half volume is a viscous precipitate that gums up on wood. Had to chase with a brush AND roller to apply. Leaves a gummy residue on everything that will not clean up with water like the instructions say. Had to use paint thinner then soap & water. I don't normally write reviews, but this product is wretched. Hope it works as advertised. AMZ should drop immediately. Instead I recommend Olympic wood preserver. Pricey but easy to use and effective on wood.San Diego CA

I usually get this from a local lumber store but thought id take a chance ordering it on amazon. We shook it up as usual but it was too thick from setting too long in a can that it wouldn't run through a sprayer as we have always done before.. Do not buy this on amazon.. Buy from a local lumber store..

Our deck turned weathered grey after applying water seal. I had to pressure wash deck. Deck was still waxy or oily. Next I had to sand entire deck including spindles. Too much work to correct water seal poor quality.

Thompsons used to be the standard of quality What happened The new formula spreads like glue, and takes forever to dry. I bought the six gallon can, What a waste of money! And also peals up after a few weeks. You will be disapointed, Save your money.

Do NOT use this product to seal a concrete driveway! A 1 star is too high of a review! It does not dry clear. In fact, it streaks it terribly! Look at pic of nice pressure washed driveway and the section on top is where we put sealer. Absolutely terrible and now trying to strip that section has been impossible. The $ and time it has taken to try to get back to normal is extensive. This company needs to read the reviews and ACT on taking the seal of concrete marketing off of all labeling.We really need a new driveway now. So unbelievable.
