Fresh and bright color made me realize how the cayenne pepper is had in my cupboard was not as good quality. I thought I was getting tolerant of the "heat" when it is more likely the powder I've been using wasn't fresh to begin with. I honestly bought the 5lb container to be able to sprinkle it adequately in the wood chips area below my apt stairs, to deter the cats from using it as a litter box. Idk if I used enough and if it's detering the cats. I have plenty to try more, if necessary. Obviously, I'm using it on my food as well. I heard about the great health benefits so, either way, I have much more than I'm need in awhile. We'll worth the purchase.

My problem has been aggressive squirrels. I have tried many products from chemical repellants to sound emitting devices. Each has drawbacks but for my money the best repellent is this simple Cayenne. Easy to pour and you will learn quickly to keep your nose away. The drawback is the staying power. Once wet it coagulates but does not easily go away. If you have a lawn watering system and the cayenne is in range, you will only get a single use. If you have heavy dew in the mornings you will likely get only a couple days. But if you have a reasonably dry area and need only to worry about rain, this is a great deterrent, and its fun watching the squirrels get in a panic when they hit it. Makes me happy.

Nice product inside. I’d use this for food. I actually bought this to deter some marmots in the area I could not trap. Poured a bunch at the den hole. Mask n goggles on. Stood upwind and used my leaf blower to shoot it in the hole. Several treatments over course of a week. The marmots have moved away. Tip -be sure to shower yourself and careful with your clothing afterward. The powder is fine and will still get you dusted.

This product is recommended to deter animals digging under your foundation, e.g., squirrels, skunks, racoons etc. I sprinkled it very heavily where the hole was and that area has not been disturbed since. I'll keep watching, but I think using this was a success. You can also mix this with coffee grounds, which these animals don't like either nor do they like peppermint oil which I also use - rats don't like that.

Good stuff. I use it to keep raccoons away from our yard. A container like that kept the raccoons away for a month. It obviously made our yard less palatable. :)

It's a good pepper, but sort of nothing works for squirrels. It needs to be filtered in order not to clog up the sprayer. It makes me sneeze though.
