Built to Destroy
The Fällkniven A1x is an absolute beast of a knife, and I can confidently say it is worth every penny of the $300 I paid. The craftsmanship is exceptional, with a build quality that feels robust and durable. Unlike the original Fällkniven models, the A1x comes with a perfectly designed sheath that complements the knife's excellence. The design is well-thought-out, ensuring both functionality and ease of use. Whether you need it for outdoor adventures or everyday tasks, this knife performs flawlessly. I highly recommend the Fällkniven A1x to anyone looking for a top-tier knife that delivers on its promises.

Very hefty and beautiful and strong; top-notch!
This is my favorite knife and I have many. It's a savage- thick and strong. It's not terribly expensive for the quality, steel properties, and fit and finish. It's got great heft. The non-slip scales are foolproof in any weather. So so thicc! I have more confidence in this knife going into the bush or going into battle than any other knife in my extensive collection. On top of all of that- it's drop-dead gorgeous.

Very aggressive handle. Otherwise seems nice.
Seems well built and is razor sharp right out of the box. Knife checked out to be a genuine Fallkniven as all the security features checked out (hologram, convex cut, lamination line, sheath belt loop placement, brown lined box, etc.) (bought from “Makais” on Amazon) Observations: 1) I would not use this as a self-defense knife per se because a) the blade is very heavy and thus harder to wield, b) you can not get a full grip on the handle coming out of the sheath thus you will be delayed in deployment, c) it is a multi-step, multi-hand process to remove knife from the sheath which may cost you time, d) the handle scales are very aggressive and uncomfortable to the naked hand…you would need to wear gloves. It can be used for self-defense, but it is just not ideal in my opinion. Something like the Gerber Strongarm is a better design for that purpose which can be effectively unsheathed single-handedly, is more ergonomically designed for self-defense, has a comfortable handle, etc.. 2) As mentioned, the handle scales are very aggressive. This is both a pro and con. Pro: the knife is not going to slip out of your hand as you do NOT want this dropping on your foot…you WILL lose at least one toe. Con: Your hand will hurt after 5 minutes of use if you are not wearing gloves. 3) There is a rattle when the knife is in the sheath. I’ve heard that gap is by design so that the knife does not freeze to the sheath in very cold temperatures. The rattle can be easily resolved by sticking a piece of “Velcro” (the soft side, not the hook side) in the sheath, though I do not know how that would affect the blade (if at all) or how that would affect the anti-stick-due-to-freezing design (if at all). Do at your own risk, but the rattle effectively disappears. 4) For right-hand dominant people, it seems the knife deploys better when worn on the left side of the body where you can hold the sheath with your left hand and disengage and deploy the knife with your right hand (Japanese samurai katana-style). Wearing the knife on the right side of the body just feels awkward. 5) The knife in the sheath when worn on a belt has a slim profile, almost “concealed carry” appearance/James Bond/ninja-like feel. It almost disappears on your waist and people will not know you are carrying it.

Extremely pleased
After reading a lot of reviews I was hesitant to purchase this knife. I am glad that I bought this knife it has a substantial weight that I appreciate but not overly bulky in my opinion but I also swing a steel Eastwing hammer all day so user results may vary. As far as people saying the grip is too rough I work with my hands all day and enjoy the confidence of a grip that well to put it blatantly has grip. If you work in an office all day this might be just too much knife for you
