The Best of British Baking: Classic Sweet Treats and Savory Bakes

This book is as amazing as I thought it would be. Very clear directions and the idea of giving measurements in cups, grams, no guessing, which are usually very confusing in most cookbooks. Very detailed description of ingredients and the uses they have. Can’t decide where to start. If you are a baker at heart, this definitely is the girl to follow. GOOD JOB!

Very disappointed that this cookbook contains no pictures of what the item looks like when baked. I select what I want to bake based on the picture - if something looks too complicated or unappetizing for some reason - I won't make it. This book has zero pictures - so I'll have to guess what something is supposed to look like, and that means I will never use this book. I would not recommend purchasing this book if you rely on pictures to make selections, or ensure your bake looks like what it should look like.

I was going through this cookbook today. Marie Rayner, the author, tells us about Great Britain, Scotland, Northern and Wales along with giving us wonderful recipes. I haven’t made any of her recipes in this particular book yet but I have made many of Marie’s recipes over the years and have always been pleased with the outcome. I know those in this book will be wonderful too.I highly recommend this cookbook.

Great recipes & pictures from a cook I've been following for a while. She's down to earth & easy to follow. This will be cherished & kept in my kitchen as long as I can still cook.

A beautiful book and very well written. I've been following her blog for years hoping for an actual physical cookbook. My only big issue is that I REALLY hoped each recipe would have had a photo. Having never made several of these recipes before, a photo of the finished bake would be nice. Otherwise, love it!

This book is just wonderful!I'm an Scot, living in Florida, and it isn't always easy to convert my other favourite UK cakes and bakes, but Marie Rayner has taken all the guess work out of baking by providing clear, concise instructions with US measures resulting in perfect British baking!I'm so pleased to have found this book ( I should add, my husband, kids and friends are happy too!)Don't delay.....buy today! 😊

I have been a follower of Marie's blog for years. She is always a safe pair of hands when it comes to recipe outcomes. This book is full of British favourites and will be my go to book when I want to impress my American friends with Mince Pies or Hot Cross Buns.Recipes are well written, and easy to read with both metric and US Cup measurements.

The book is well laid out, with gorgeous recipes and easy to follow recipes! I can’t wait to bake my way through it.

The pictures are gorgeous, the recipes are amazing. I have looked forward to receiving this book because I follow the authors blog. Every single recipe of hers that I have tried has been wonderful- my family is very happy that I bought her book! I will spend today baking British goodies - can't wait. I am so happy to have this recipe book.

For any Anglophile, this is the ultimate cookbook. Well written, beautifully illustrated and all the recipes I’ve tried thus far are truly top notch. The coffee and walnut cake is just amazing!
