Hardy, warm-sounding reeds with a reasonable price tag
The gold standard for my kid's sax, as far as I'm concerned. She goes through reeds a lot slower with this brand, and the sound is warm and rich. I can notice a difference in sound, for sure. They may be a bit spendier, but they are worth the price.

Quality has declined, but still not bad
Vandoren reeds are a classic. They are typically high quality and produce a good tone. I have found, however, that they are not the most consistent in strength. Some 3.5s play more like 3s, and some play like 4s. There is also some variation in left/right strength. They hold up well to a long period of playing, but have overall found that they are no better than the cheaper reed options. If you want something budget-friendly, I would recommend Rico as a comparable quality. If you want something higher quality, I love the Boston Sax Shop reeds.

Excellent Reeds!
Reeds have definitely gotten a lot more expensive over the past 10 years! These reeds by Vandoren have been consistently good out of the box. They play well, and I appreciate their quality.

Worth the price
We have purchased this several times for my son's alto and tenor sax. He is in middle school band, and he says that these are the best. They are a bit spendy, but he says that they are worth it. He's been playing now for going on 4 years
