Lightweight. Fits 1L smart water bottle
Super lightweight. I took the clip off bc it wasn’t needed. Fits the 1 L smart water bottle easily. You just need two hands to put it in.

Love it!
Loved it. Works great with a 700 ml bottle. Stays in place and easy to get bottle in and out.

Almost perfect.
Fits great and stays put on the shoulder strap. The only thing I wish is that the opening was a bit touch wider. The Costco 1L bottles I use are a little tight to get in and out, but this serves its purpose very well.

Not for all packs, won’t fit 1 liter bottles
Just did a section of AT in Georgia without the bottle carrier. Two reasons I didn’t use it, first the carrier didn’t fit a 1 liter bottle and secondly it was too cumbersome to put the bottle back in the sleeve without stopping and using both hands. The design is weird with a clip on strap in the front and elastic loops on the back for shoulder strap mounting? I guess it’s for multiple ways to use it. Still I wouldn’t recommend this product simply because it requires you to be able to pull your straps all the way out of the buckle in order to mount it and it doesn’t hold a 1 liter life water bottle. Missed my return date so money wasted.

Water bottle within easy reach on my day pack
The side pockets of my REI day hiking pack are difficult to reach without taking the pack off, and that's not always convenient. A friend of mine had a mesh carrier and I liked the idea. I chose Mountain Mike's Bottle Holder over others because it was deeper at 9-1/2". I took my time fiddling with it to get the perfect fit on my pack. Yes, I had to disconnect the strap from the body of my pack to slide in on but it's a good set up, attached to the grab handle and running under the shoulder strap "sleeve". I've attached a small carabiner to the holder's loop to attach to the flip top lid of my water bottle (20 oz) to keep it in place if I have to duck low under a fallen tree. Is it tricky to get the bottle back in the holder? A little... but do it enough, and you figure out the best way to do it, and I don't struggle any more. It's way better than contorting my arms to reach the side pockets of my pack. Mike, I'd love it if the logo were visible rather than on the side which sits against the strap. :-)

Convenient
Great ! Had to cut elastic and see in my pack .. my strap did not detached to slide it on ..

I didn’t like it
The problem with this item is it has to slip over the end of the strap that tightens the shoulder strap on your backpack. The end of the strap has to slip all the way out of the plastic buckle at the bottom. So the pack I bought this for doesn’t allow for the strap to slip all the way out-it’s not designed to do that. So I had to cut and re-fit the shoulder strap just to put this thing onThe next problem was that once I cut and modified my pack, the bottle holder STILL failed to stay in place and gravity caused it to always slip down to the bottom of the strap when it didn’t have a water bottle in it, where this holder would then get wrapped up in my hand. AnnoyingThis item is a good idea in theory but bad in execution. I cut it up and trashed it
