s excited at first but then I realized I need to hold the unit for the buttons are so sensitive you can not put it in a pocket and it does not have a device to hook it on ones belt loop.... Also, it has decreased its intensity on its own. I set it to 4 and then it started counting down to 0 even though there was time left on the unit. And I am not sure why there are body parts listed because it does not seem to matter when you click on them, like "back." I like there is a case though but the case is not something you can hook on anything as the machine is in use. Uggggg Let's all continue to make products without thinking things through. Received my package damaged.

I bought this item because I am currently going to physical therapy for 2 herniated discs in my neck. They use electric stimulation as part of my regiment. I wanted one to use at home to help relieve back pain and also with the sharp pain that shoots down my arm. I found this TENS unit and thought it was pretty decent for the price and plus it came with a case. I tried out this unit and didn’t like it at all. It didn’t relieve any pain and to be honest, caused me more pain. I tried every setting on the unit and couldn’t find one that was even close to same feeling as the one at physical therapy. I read a review saying but shocked him and it didn’t feel good. Well...... that review was spot on! I felt like I was getting electrocuted. Very sharp pains like I was being stabbed with a large pin. It was very painful! Nothing soothing or therapeutic about it. The highest setting I could handle was......1, yes ....1. I tried bumping it up to 2 but the felt like I was sticking my finger in a 120v electrical socket, but it was on my back. I am immediately sending this unit back for a refund!!!! I am going to look for one that is FDA approved. Maybe I’ll have a better outcome.

I had originally posed a question about this unit and now that I own and use it, I hope I can help others since there was never a clear answer to the question. I had wondered if this unit was truly a combination TENS/EMS unit. I am happy to say it has both features and they works very well. The unit itself says it is TENS and EMS silkscreened on the front but there is no clear detail about it at first glance. In the instructions, it describes the MUSCLE option as being the EMS function so I tried it and it certainly began to contract my thigh muscles at about level15 and above settings. I used the TENS portion and it works very well and you can clearly feel the level of pain relief from sore muscles even at lower than 10 settings. There is a lot of positive on these reviews so I don't have to rehash that but I just want to say that it is an excellent device and for the money I was completely impressed. To note, the box that it comes in does note that it is both a TENS and EMS but you just have to read the very short detail in the manual that the EMS feature is specific to the MUSCLE option. If you buy a good sample like I did, you will be very happy with your purchase. And one last... I was expecting 4 electrode pads and it comes with 6. Another positive and unexpected surprise !
