I have pipes with 1/2" od and 3/4" od. what sizes should i buy? i bought 3/4" norminal coupling from another seller, id of coupling is 7/8".

For Copper, OD = Nominal (ID) + 1/8". So 1/2" OD = 3/8" Nominal, and 3/4" OD = 5/8" Nominal. But these are not very common sizes, I would double check your pipe size.

I have pipes with OD 5/8 - nominal is 1/2". Not sure if fittings are name after the pipes it fits (nominal), or is the actual fitting measures?

End to end length of 1-inch coupling is 2 inches.

Does the 1/2" copper pipe go on the inside of the coupling or the outside?

Inside the coupler. some, like these, have a stopper inside the coupler that limits how far each pipe penetrates - others dont.

Perfect sizing

perfect for intended purpose to connect 2 sections of pipe for decorative purposes. I use them to stake plants in the garden with sections of old pipe. I am considering buying the elbow and T pieces to create a trellis.

For the pool

I bought these for myself and a friend to use to to keep the algae from the pool wall. My pool guy has been in the business for 40 years and recommended that we do this. We each put 5 of these in the filter basket by the pump and the water has never looked this good for this long. It’s been 2 weeks in the Florida and Texas heat since we’ve had to brush the pool walls or floor.
