Great resource for hospital chaplains!
Excellent resource for chaplains! I am using this resource in my spiritual care work at a nursing home and on a detox unit. So far the patients have loved it. The guided imagery scripts are powerful and inclusive. It helps me to have well written scripts to read from and not have to make it up as I go. I highly recommend this book.

WONDERFUL book, a great deal of typos and formatting errors
This is a powerful book and such a gift from the author (thank you!) to enable one to connect to one’s own spirituality and to higher guidance. Honestly, buy the book, it’s worth it. Guided meditations are just another form of prayer. They enable me to connect to my Creator in a way that rote prayers cannot. The first guided meditation I read was by Flora Slosson Wuellner and I was blown away. This book is, likewise, compelling and life-changing. It’s a bridge to manifestation, calm, and clarity. I especially like the “walking with Jesus” sections (since I pray to Jesus and always long to meet Him), I loved these. But I also like the Padre Pio meditation, which has a surprising spiritual connection for me (an answer to a prayer). I love the train meditation (I’ve always wanted to ride the Oriental Express) as well as anything to do with the beach. “Replacing love with fear” meditation is particularly powerful and relevant. There is something for everyone. I would like to see more distinction between the various meditations so they are each truly unique. Also cartoon characters used for children (something relatable), and, for myself, more travel settings (I like to travel in my mind if I can’t in person). The author is excellent at establishing setting, and also at connecting to spiritual leaders. Obviously he is very creative and visual. He is also very kind-hearted, offering understanding of the critical voice inserted by one’s parents. Clearly that meditation didn’t work for me; I still have my critical voice. But seriously, for $25, hire an editor/formatter for goodness sake. It is ridiculous to pay this much for a book and be continually taken out of the meditation by typos (almost every page). The kindle version is better. In the print version, there are whole sections which are misaligned and all over the page. I bought the print book for myself and for someone else, so I spent $50 (as well as buying the kindle version) but I am not buying any more gift copies until these typos are fixed (a lot of confused homonyms, duplicate words, erroneous words). Vellum software does a great job of formatting (under $300), but the typos need to be fixed first. I can’t believe with all these people who helped on the book there is no one who can spot these errors. I am a bit OCD, I have been called “Eagle Eye”, so errors will very likely bother more more than the average person, but there truly are dozens of errors (I'm being nice here). This has the effect of pushing me out of the meditation. A personal opinion: the “Remember to put the head back down” in the middle of the meditation had the same effect for me: taking me out of the meditation. It’s a bit unnerving to be brought to that spiritual place and then kicked out. I’m an unusually silly person myself (truly I am), but I’m not looking for cute in the middle of a spiritual meditation. It is jarring to the system. What if the priest told a joke in the middle of Communion (the Last Supper)? The content is overall excellent. I hope I am not cast into hell for writing this review on a wonderful, meaningful book. I’m sure I didn’t deserve the gift of this book. My OCD made me do it. Other than the formatting/typos and that one meditation insertion, the book is lovely and magical.

Just OK
It's an OK book of meditations. Seems like most of them are similar with just a few words changed.

Perfect for use in private practice
I am a psychologist and often teach my patients relaxation and mindfulness techniques. This book is perfect for my practice. It has a variety of guided imagery scripts for many different situations. I have gotten great feedback from my patients when I use these in session.

So calming! Great imaging while cooling down in class! AHHHH!
When I need to be in a different mode, calming, relaxing, at peace, Lovin and living well in this world, in our sanctuary. Reading and imaging the Beauty that has life on pages for my eyes to behold. Magical!
