A must for any leader!
I love this book! I order one for any new leader I work with. It has practical examples, tips, and tools for the real workplace. I frequently turn to it when I need to address performance with certain types of employees and it reminds leaders why it is so important to have consistent, high standards! Highly recommend!!

Practical advise for improving your management approach
Michael Henry Cohen had provided working managers with a highly necessary and an extremely practical book. The title itself should catch your interest and cause you to do some extensive self-evaluation. Why do I continue to have personnel issues at work? Because I allow them to continue. While this book is an easy read, it is not simplistic; the practical steps necessary to bring about change will take a concerted effort on the part of the reader to implement. If you are "hoping" to bring about change, continue doing what you are currently doing; if you intend to bring about change, buy the book, and change what you teach.

Excellent resource for supervisors. Highly recommend.
Had read this several years ago through our hospital departments' book club and found it very helpful. Short to the point with examples of common issues in supervising staff. Easy to understand filled with common sense! Had lent it previously to people who had also found the book to be an excellent resource. Recently bought 4 books to give to newer managers in our clinic.

Excellent resource
This book is an excellent resource and training tool. I read it, then decided to use it to train my front line team of charge nurses. It has provided us with a clearer vision of how our addressing issues with staff greatly impacts how we reach our vision, and has helped me see how holding my leadership team to a standard (without anger or feeling as if I am asking too much of them) greatly impacts us reaching our vision. Thanks for an excellent, clearcut training tool!
