whats the minimum encloser for this sub?

Enclosure size effects how low a frequency the sub can produce, as does port size. There are many free programs like box-port design II that once you enter the speaker perimeters will show a graph of the expected low frequency curve. The important values are VAS=10.7L, Qes=1.015, Qts=.812, Fs=43Hz. The manufacture suggests a 1/2 cu ft sealed enclosure, and this yields an f3 about 50Hz with a 2db bump at 70Hz. Due to the high Fs frequency of this driver, a larger box only improves sound a small amount. Going smaller is a problem and will greatly hurt sound quality. This sub is excellent for general rock music, but electronic high bass rap music may not give you a super low bass punch that more expensive subs will. Also being only 8", there is just so much air that this piston can through. Due to the low efficiency of most subs, the dedicated sub amp should be about 10x the power of the main speakers.

Can i replace my factory sub in a 2008 ford expedition el with this one?

I wouldn't know if it fits you'll have to open the panel to see. Also verify that the factory amp has the right power to drive this woofer; if thats what you plan on using for power. My Dodge Nitro ended up being a dual voice coil so this woofer didn't work from me. Went with pioneer and had to put an aftermarket amp in also.

Can this be used with stock amplifier? I think its only 40W for the amp.

I do not think it would sound good with that amp.

Would this be better sealed or ported?

Absolutely SEALED. I originally engineered the enclosure with a port using a boxplot program for port size design. I even tried different frequency tuning with port size. You do get more extended bass from a ported enclosure, but the frequency curve is not as smooth. Think single note subwoofer, not the best for music. I ended up closing up the port and running an amp capable of providing adequate output. Speaker sounds great now. In short, NO PORT.
