The most Fantastic ever!
Alright, for those of you who are wondering, this is THE COMPLETE FANTASTIC FOUR! That's right, you won't ever need another collection!Although it does *not* include crossover issues, this fantastic dvd-rom includes every issue of the Fantastic Four ever published!I have been a die-hard fan of the old comics since I was ten, so when I popped this baby into my laptop, it actually brought tears to my eyes to see the full-color reproductions (scanned onto disc!!!) of the original comics, complete with the ads they ran with and everything!Of course, if you like the more modern comics, you need look no further! This collection, I believe, runs all the way up to 2005!I would also like to point out that Marvel has recently issued collections of its older comics, the seminal works in the series. A collection from the Fantastic Four series, containing about 20 issues, costs me anywhere from 10-20 dollars, and it's just newsprint bound in paper. Therefore, to get over 18000 pages in scanned comics for 40 dollars is almost ludicrous!I think my decision is clear - buy it, you'll never regret it!

Appears to have distracting watermark on every page
I don't like that it appears to have the word "Marvel" written in the middle of every page.It distracts from the art.

Good content, poor presentation
This is a good buy. Where else are you going to find all of these issues in one place for this price. However be prepared, this is only for people that are looking to read the stories, not for those looking for a collectable. These are just mid-grade scans of the comic book pages. It looks like someone just flipped open the books and threw them on the scanner. When I first put this in and saw the quality I litterally chuckled out lound and said "really?". You will have to zoom in the pdf file to read the comics and scroll around the page. Also, it's not actually all of the Silver Surfers. I have the entire run of vol 3 which is 151 issues. This collection stops at 146.Over all I'm glad I got this so I can actually read all these issues; and it is quite a hoot seeing the ads from the 60's, 70's, and 80's, but the quality is disapointing.

Spendid Time Gauranteed for All
I thoroughly am enjoying this immense collection of classic comic amazement. Like many old fools I read these early issues at the time of their release and through the foolishness of youth I lost many of them through age, mold and the old school parental habit of their throwing out those "childish comic magazines." Big, Huge Mistake! That said, re-enjoying these in digital format is a time trip and an immensely enjoying immersion in what has become an important Art form of the 20th and 21st century. The transfers are not perfect but in the slight grunginess of the scans they capture the essence of the times. While the original art and feel of the books are the best and while I also highly encourage investing in the Marvel Masterwork book series, this collection allows a close-up perusely and examination of this treasure trove of comic book thrills at an amazingly low price. Also, I have noticed in the reviews, a number of statements regarding the MARVEL WATERMARK on the pages as a detriment to the work. I would agree, however, that WATERMARK is only apparent if you look at the PDFs with MAC PREVIEW program or an old ADOBE READER program. Use the enclosed 7.08 version of ADOBE READER or the latest version 9 Adobe Reader (download is free) and there is NO WATERMARK on the screen. As old man Stan would put it, Enuf Said. Excelsior!

Definitely worth the price
So for $40, I get enough scans to ocupy hundreds of hours of comic reading time? That's easily 5 stars. Also, if you have an iPad, this is great, since the iBooks app provides a good interface for pdf documents. This product is straightforward: it is a DVD of pdf scans of the four series of FF (not ultimate), through issue 543 plus the scans of the Silver Surfer through 146. As pdf scans go, the newer scans are very good, but the older ones, not so much. It's easily worth the money. The only question that I see for FF and SS fans is whether to go with this or Marvel's digital library. Whether you prefer this or Marvel's digital library depends on a few factors.- How much do you want to pay? The digital library is a subscription. You'll pay as much every year as this costs or more, depending on when you buy (current it's $60).- Is this for viewing newer issues or are you just interested in going back and reminiscing (my own reason).- Do you care primarily about reading FF and SS or is your interest all over the Marvel Universe?- When and where are you going to read it? My iPad is spectacular for reading these pdf comics. I used DropBox to easily copy the pdfs into my iBooks library. If a Netbook works just as good for you, then that makes the digital subscription more viable, though reading the digital library does require a connection to the internet (I think).I much prefer reading on my iPad over a pc and the affordability of this made it a no-brainer. I hope that someday Marvel will provide a subscription based iPad app, but even if they do, I will have gotten many hours of reading enjoyment to justify my $40 purchase.

Fantastic Four is "The World's Greatest Comic Magazine"!
This disc is a very special treat for all loyal Fantastic Four fans. While I am also a subscriber to Marvel Comics' Unlimited Digital Service, this disc serves as a nice supplement to said service. Not only does it cover a lot more Fantastic Four issues, but it shows them in the manner in which the original Silver Age comics did, with the small red dots on the characters' faces. For any Fantastic Four lover who has developed allergies to old paper or the damp smell which hits most old comics, this disc is a life-saver!

The Best release from GIT Corp Yet.
This is without a doubt the best release GIT Corp has made so far. This set gives you 45 years of Fantastic Four Comics, as well as EVERY Silver Surfer comic. For Marvel fans, this is amazing, you get every issue up to 2007, every annual, all perfectly scanned, with all pages and advertisements in tact. If you are even looking at this page, then you would not be disapointed with this product.GIT Corp puts out an amazing product, not just this, but with all the other sets as well. most of them offer 500+ comics for 50 dollars, this one offers 700+ comics for the same price. These are all one one DVD, and there is a menu allowing you to switch between collections. The Menus are not terribly fancy, just like all the other sets have been, but you are not purchasing this CD For the Menus. The actual Comics are glorious, every issue, from issue 1 to the 45th anniversary.actually thats another thing. This website, the box itself and the companies website, advertises that it contains every issue up to 2006.THIS IS NOT THE CASE.It contains every issue up to 2007!Yes, if you have the recently released DVD set called "A House Divided" then this product here contains every issue up to that point (the 45th anniversary issue)all this and more could be yours, for pennies per issue. The Price is right, the Product is great, and without a doubt the BEST release GIT Corp has put out.Sadly GIT has lost the contract with Marvel, and these are going out of stock, so as soon as theyre gone, THEYRE GONE, so get them while they are still availible. It would take you Ten years, and Ten thousand dollars to get all this, or 50 dollars and a click of the mouse. There is ONE little problem. GIT released a Fantastic Four Box set 2 years ago, containing 500+ issues for 50 dollars. (since it was from longer ago, that set contains less Fantastic Four Issues than this one, and NO Silver Surfer Issues)The one problem that there is, is that if you have it already, there is no real point in paying 50 dollars for the Silver Surfer issues, and a few more FF ones. In all honesty, it almost feels like a slap in the face to those people. unfortunatly, thats just the way things work sometimes, and I suppose the best thing to do would be to trade in the old set for this one, and pay the difference. This has nothing to do with the product, and everything to do with the manufacturer, and Does not affect my review. If you do not have the old set, THIS is the product for you.So there you go, More Issues than you can shake a stick at, MORE than advertised, and an amazing product to begin with MADE BETTER, with the inclusion of EVERY Silver Surfer issue, and 2 MORE years of FF.

An amazing collection in a small space.
There is no way I could afford to collect all of these comics--and I certainly couldn't store them as conveniently. If you have a tablet computer you will certainly enjoy reading these comics on the computer. If you are using a desktop or laptop, and you don't watch a lot of media that way, you might find it difficult. The whole book is scanned. That includes the advertisements and letter pages. Not every page is mint perfect...but they scanned the best ones they could find.If the price is right, you can't afford not to get it.My only regret is that I didn't get the Avengers as well.
