Got the simadre 50rx today and it works great we got it out of the box and set it up and started cutting. For the price you cannot beat it.

Eats consumables, the first week or so it was able to cut 3/8 plate, it will not do that anymore. Today it would barely cut 1/4 inch.I've had this machine for about 6 months now, in the time I've had it, it has not been used for more than an hour, or ever 1 1/2 hour max (Total time on machine)We have a hypertherm 380 at work, the hypertherm is about 10 years old, will cut like a hot knife through butter

I was given this as a gift for around the shop. Most of the steel I work with is 1/4" and 3/16", it has done great high quality cuts and have cut through 3/4" steel just playing with it. I keep it cranked at 220 volts 50 amp and have had no issues. It would have received 5 stars but you will go through electrodes pretty quick. Other than that I am very happy with the cutter and have had it for about 2 months. Its been moved around inside and out and is usually used every weekend and is still holding up. The instruction manual is absolutely worthless, so make sure you have a little knowledge and common sense hooking it up out of the box.

Excellent machine with reasonable price for any small projects that I have to work on, it cuts well as described, great buy for me.
