Because Devney Perry never fails to deliver.Yes, even with the disliked-by-so-many pregnancy trope. I’m going to be honest… I love the pregnancy trope. I do. So, I was quite at home with this one.I’ve liked Cass in the last book but I absolutely adored her in this one. I’m not sure I could ever be as kind and forgiving as her but the world would be a better place if more people were.Now Leo. I wanted to equal parts hug him and tell him to get lost. Infuriating at times, so relatable at others, Devney Perry offered us such a complex character whose layers were a delight to peel off.But I must say, my heart will forever belong to Dash & Bryce and Luke & Scarlett 🥹😭 They didn’t miss a beat in this one 👏🏼 superb.Now let me grab some popcorn because Emmett is in it for a treat 😎😜

I've been waiting for Leo's story for ages, it seems like. And Devney Perry did not disappoint!!! The trope of this book is definitely one of my favourites and it was oh so delicious to watch the Jester fall. But what I loved even more, was Leo's character development and his journey in this story. And don't get me started on Casandra, she was everything that Leo needed.Their journey had turns and twists and bumps. It was NOT easy, but so satisfying to watch. Even if at times I wanted to smack Leo over the head, but the guy was battling some scary demons and having to deal with present dangers. But Cassie was a firecracker and such a strong and determined woman, with a heart of gold, battling her own demons and trying to carve a path with Leo even if he was constantly messing up.This was everything I wanted and didn't expect for Leo's story and now I can't wait for Tin Queen but also, I don't want this series to end!

Book 5 in the Clifton Forge series this book follows Leo Winter and Cassandra Cline. We are introduced to Cass at the end of Noble Prince. She becomes intertwined with the Tin Gypsies by being in the wrong place at the wrong time.Cass is the good girl, she has a great relationship with her parents, she works hard and has goals she intends to accomplish. She studies and rarely takes time to let her hair down. She sees Leo out one night, the rare night she decides to have a little fun. They have a hot one night stand, and Cass will go back to her life, only that one night leads to a baby.When Cass tells Leo, he does not respond well. He is absolutely terrified of being a father and doesn't think he is worthy. His response is really awful and it is really hard to like Leo through most of this book. Cass decides she doesn't need him and will have the baby on her own. But now that she is attached to Leo, she might be in danger because of the life Leo used to live as a member of the Tin Gypsies.Like I said, Leo is not very likable through most of this book. He does not treat Cass or their unborn child very well. He continually disappoints her and breaks her heart. They do slowly go from strangers to tentative friends to eventually lovers. But the process is painful!Cass on the other hand is very likable. She is so strong and self sufficient. She is determined to have her baby and still accomplish her goals. Even though Leo hurts her over and over, she still holds out hope that he will become the father she thinks he can be. She keeps faith that he is a better man than he thinks he is. She is also strong enough to walk away from him.Leo does eventually redeem himself, thankfully. This is my 3rd book by this writer. A few years ago I read two of her books and they were disappointments. I took a chance on this book because I found the description to be a story I might enjoy. MC books are one of my favorite genres. I want them raw gritty and intense. This book did not meet that expectation. However there is a hopeless romantic who lives in me and on occasion wants a soft feel good book. This book met that demand. This is not a true MC club story. This is Leo and Cassandra’s story. Leo was convincing as a former MC club member. I became very fond of Leo. I love an alpha MC club man with a dark past. Cassandra was an inexperienced young woman. She was not stupid. She was educated and likable. Her feelings for Leo were love at first sight. I believe and understand love at first sight. I’ve experienced that emotion in my life and it’s real. If you want a dark hard core MC book this is not for you. If you want something on the softer side with a Ex MC club hot biker I highly recommend.

I didn’t think I would love this one because of the trope, but oh my… this was a favorite. SO GOOD🥹
