A Nice Unit, but with major issues.
I really wanted to like this box.It has good reviews, good price - and it's so small, it would sit perfectly in front of a TV.Sadly - the functionality has meant I have had to return mine.If you know what you are doing, or you don't really care which channels you get - this box will do the job. This is why I have given it 3 stars. It does the job.If, however, you aren't really sure about transponders and frequencies, you may struggle. I need German TV channels from Astra 19.2E - and when I first did a scan, all I came up with was Arabic channels. I knew enough to have a play around, increase the signal range, and eventually I found most of the German channels.Sadly, some where still missing - and even when I put in the code to take me directly to the transponder - I had the exact frequency for the channel - it still couldn't find them. I know they are still broadcasting, as they still are on my old 10 yo+ box. I know this is an inexpensive box, but it should not be out-technologied by a decade old piece of kit.If you want something cheap and simple - this will do the job inexpensively. If you are wanting to get something specific - you may not want this device.

Value for money.
Been reviewing satellite receivers for a few weeks now. After considering price, reviews and available information on product, plumped for the tiny S7S2X. All I wanted was to be able to watch normal live TV. Only have Freeview Light available and signal is "unreliable", being polite there. Box was up and running within the hour signal good, picture quality excellent. Like that it is easy to move channels. As my wife can easily scroll through her favourite channels using just the up and down arrows, not having to remember where the +1 channel is if she has missed the start of a program. She just goes 1 channel up and there it is.Great value and easy to setup/use if all you need is access to FTA satellite channels.

Standard box
This wasn't fit for purpose, I tried to connect it for running freeview but for some strange reason it never worked for me.

Excellent value and does what it should
Satellite boxes can be a bit fiddly to set up, but this box is a lot less fiddly than others which I have had. The box is small and light. The menu displays are well designed and high-contrast. You can connect to your tv either with an HDMI cable or an AV cable (red, white and yellow "phono" type lead). You can view just one satellite (e.g. freesat on Eutelsat 28a) or, if you have a motorised dish or multiple LNBs, any number of satellites. Beginners will have to read instructions about selecting satellite(s), but I recommend this box for its functionality and quite remarkable value. Two weeks later:I have just set up a second such box in another room, and I remain very pleased indeed. Like the other satellite boxes I have used (including Technomates) the EPG facility is much less informative than on terrestrial tv. Just one of those things. I will reiterate that the menus are high-contast, and thus easily readable from a distance (unlike so many tv sets, websites, instruction booklets, lists of ingredients which seem to compete to be illegible at any distance).
