Bleeping marvellous!
Faced with swapping the ageing battery in my VW Golf, I didn't want the additional hassle of resetting the clock, adding all the radio stations or anything else that might have been lost due to the battery being removed. So, I have a new battery for the car.The previous battery is still in the car, and...I had a spare older 12V battery - not enough to turn an engine over, but enough current to keep a few electronic circuits running. The instructions supplied are in Chinese. I used a well-known search company translation app to understand what to do.1. I attached the OBD saver to the spare battery.2. The unit began to beep repeatedly and the red LED lit up.3. I plugged this into the ODB socket in the driver footwell.4. I undid the negative battery lead from the car battery (10mm spanner).5. I undid the positive battery lead from the car battery (10mm spanner).6. I removed the fleecy jacket from the battery.7. I removed the nut and clip holding the battery to the chassis (13mm spanner).8. I removed the existing car battery.9. The OBD saver was still beeping merrily.10. I placed the new battery in the chassis tray.11. I replaced the nut and clip to hold the new battery in place.12. I replaced the fleecy jacket.13. I replaced the positive battery lead and secured it again.14. I replaced the negative battery lead and secured it again.15. I removed the positive clip from the old spare battery and the OBD saver continued to beep.16. I removed the OBD saver from the car.17. The clock was correct, the radio stations were intact.18. I turned the ignition and the car started in less than half the time of the previous battery.19. I looked in the mirror and winked at myself for doing a good job.20. I took a short time to rest and type this review.Apart from the Chinese instructions, this was very straightforward to use.I was back in the house in under 10 minutes and that included putting away the old spare battery in the garage and tidying away the tools I used.

OBD battery replacement instructions and precautions (801)1. Use two clips to connect the spare 12V small battery. Red clip positive. Black connected to negative pole2. After the OBD red light is on, plug it into the vehicle's OBD socket. At this time, a long beeping sound indicates that the connection is normal. Close the door, lock the car remotely, make the hood falsely locked, and the car enters sleep mode.3. The battery can now be replaced. Handle with caution. ※Attention! When replacing the battery, do not open the door, do not turn on the lights, do not turn on any electrical appliances, and do not touch the positive terminal of the battery to the ground. Because this will blow the vehicle's SA fuse that supplies power to the OBD socket. Failure of work resulting in uninterruptible power supply. And also need to replace the fuse on the car.4. After replacing the battery, first loosen the red clip of the tool. If the tool still beeps for a long time, it means success. If the tool doesn't beep, it means the vehicle fuse is blown.5. After connecting European cars with delayed power supply, wait 20 minutes before removing the original car battery and then replacing it!※※Note: Please strictly follow the instructions. Failure to follow the instructions will burn the fuse on the car. With it: the stereo is not locked, the clock remains unchanged, the anti-theft is not locked, the steering angle sensor does not need to be set, and the door and window anti-pinch does not need to be set. The throttle idle speed does not need to be set. The instrument does not light up any alarm lightsGood backup powerGoogle translated the instructions and it did the job! Radio working fine after changing batteries. When you it into the UBD2 port there is a continuous beeping.

Didn't work, no instructions...
RED Led so assumed was on, a constant beep emitted when connected to second battery via Croc clips. Assumed this meant was connected. Replaced car battery, and although I didn't lose my clock or radio settings, I now have 12+ error codes on the car which now means I need to purchase obd cable and clear.
