Can you use these for hot/warm drinks for children?

Yes, I used them for hot chocolate and they worked fine. The straw is a pretty thick silicone so it works well. The silicone sleeve stops them getting hot to the touch.

Do the straws have valves?

Hi, no our straws don't have a valve, this allows the straws to be used for thicker drinks, ie the likes of smoothies. thanks.

Are the lids silicone free?
