Polyester Welt Cord Cellulose Piping, Semi-Firm, 25-Yard, 5/32

Compressed paper covered with poly (or perhaps cotton) fibers so fine that with the slightest pinch between my thumb and forefinger I was able to slide it away to reveal the paper core. If I were to strip all 25 yards of its fiber wrap, I'd end up with something about the size of a cotton ball. What does paper do when wet? It disintegrates. See photos. I will certainly not waste my time, effort and fabric to make piping with this trash. The only possible application I can think of for this piping is in tight, rigid upholstery that will never ever move and won't get handled, like the frame of a sofa or a dining room chair seat. A soft cushion or pillow--forget it. It will fall apart over time. And needless to say, I wouldn't put it in the washing machine!

I use this welt cord for interior upholstery. I used to have a re-upholstery business, but am now retired and only recover my own furniture. I am recovering two matching Ethan Allan chairs and will use the firm cord. It holds its shape with use. The 25 yard size gives me enough for the project, but small enough that I don't have to stock a lot of it. I am glad you make it available to the public. Thanks.

Making slipcovers for two sofas and I've made 100 yards of piping (If I'd known just how much I'd need, I'd have bought a bigger spool at the beginning of my project rather than four 25 yard spools!). Love the spools...they're definitely reusable...now I've got spools for my zippers by the yard. Couldn't be more pleased with this cording...just what I needed.

I was not please with this because it is not what I wanted. I guess my thought was on cotton cord for piping. This Cellulose piping would best be described as firm tissue paper enclosed in polyester fiber. This appear to be perfect for upholstery fabric, as stated, but too thick and stiff for garment. I will keep it with the hope of probably using it when I venture into upholstery.

I bought this product new, but what they send me is not new, I'm very, very unhappy with. Don't understand the reasons. Never buy again with this seller. 😕

There was some confusion as to whether this cording was cotton or polyester. It is definitely cotton and very nice quality. The seller was very quick to reply and offered me a full refund including shipping, but when the cording arrived I wanted to keep it. It has worked beautifully with my home made piping!

My first time making double welt piping and this piping was perfect for the job.

What a great price. The product is sturdy and easy to work with. I'd say that I'd buy it again, but the roll is so large that I can't imagine using it all up -- ever.
