Hot pack leaks
Since 2011 we ordered the microcore hot packs directly from Vesture. In may 2020 we were advised by Vesture they were no longer providing these hot packs and we could find them on Amazon. I ordered from Amazon 5/2020. My brother just started using this one and after no more than 10 uses it started to leak. We are very disappointed. and past the return window. If Vesture is now not the manufacturer who is making the Microcore? Have they changed the product materials? Shouldn't the product last longer than a month? very unhappy customer The hot pack looks like new, but is unusable because it leaks. What can we do?

Used it in a lunch bag to keep food hot
Excellent. I didnt buy this to use in a casserole cover I bought this to use in my husbands lunch bag eBags Crew Cooler II (Pitch Black) and its fits perfectly. My husband works 12-16 hours a day and he doesnt like to take cold lunches all the time , plus he has to keep his lunch in the car with no where to microwave it keeping it warm was always a problem and this lasts in the bag about 8 hours before its starts getting luke warm temp. I will be buying another so I can put one on the bottom , then his meal prep containers and then another on the top so it lasts even longer

Worked better than my hot/cold pack for keeping things hot.
I ordered 2 the same day as the double layered insulated bag from Amazon. They were supposed to arrive before 9PM the next day. Amazingly, they arrived before 10am the next day as I was getting ready to leave for a football tailgate (50 miles away). I followed the package directions for heating in my 1000 watt microwave. They are larger than the hot /cold packs I bought locally. I kept trying to get my hot/cold packs warmer and made a mistake and overheated one pack causing it to swell and leak. I had to discarded it. So when my Amazon hot packs arrived before 10AM even though they were promised by 9PM I was ecstatic ! I was able to use them for a tailgate that day! They kept my quiches warm for what took 2hours travel instead of the normal 1hour. These heat packs stayed warm for a before game tailgate, after game tailgate and a total of 3hours travel time. I will order at least one more for a one layer carrier that I bought from Amazon last year.

Keeps food warm. Great for potluck events
I was a little skeptical about buying these, but I bought them for a potluck and they kept the food warm through the drive there and during the event! It was totally worth getting this. I haven't used it again since, so I cant speak for how good it is using it more than once.If my review has helped you in any way, please click the "helpful" button below so that I know! Does not sustain heat for extended period of time
Purchased to maintain hot lunch heat for 1-hour transport in 28 degree-weather day. Red Pack (properly heated per instructions) and already very hot food was placed in Cambro carrier box, yet upon arrival hot sandwiches and Red Pack were barely warm. I would suggest this product is probably efficient for no more than 20-30 minutes in extreme cold conditions.

Does the job better than any others
These are wonderful in pyrex portables and keep my casseroles piping hot. I heat them according to time specified and tuck under the flap in pyrex portable carrier. I take my 9x13 baking dish piping hot out of oven and place on top of the bottom flap. Then I heat second one and place over lid that covers my dish and zip up. I have had the two keep a casserole dish very warm for over 3 hours without having to reheat on arrival to where I was taking it. I left carrier zipped until time to eat and found food to be serving temp warm to hot. The packs are still quite warm to touch even after more than 2.5-3 hours as my trip was 1.5 hours and we did not eat for an hour or more after arriving. Highly recommend but be careful not to overheat as bag will fill with air and burst. Also if using in a carrier with no pocket for the hot pack, I would recommend a towel or heavy layer of paper towels over pack before putting dish just out of oven directly on the pad. I usually warm the pad 15 sec less than recommended time then set another 15-20 sec where I am watching constantly for any sign of swelling. You must stop microwave immediately if it starts to swell. Also be careful not to get sharp object near hot pack. I've had these last many years without problems. If a small puncture occurs then gel can leak out and pack will feel very light. It is no longer usable at that point. The other hot packs that you can feel the liquid slosh around in them are not nearly as good as these are at retaining heat so don’t waste my money on them.

perfect for my needs
I received it 3 days ago and used it yesterday. I am a Meals on Wheels driver with a 30+ mile route. I transfer the hot meals to my own cooler and plop this (wrapped in a clean pillow case) on top of the stacks. It keeps the meals hot down to the final one. My route takes up to 2 hours and this is excellent. The cold items I have iced packs for, but I never had anything to maintain heat in a cooler that gets opened up to 16 times! I wasn't impressed with the shipping container (a 2 layer brown paper envelope with little wooly circles between the layers to protect it). It had already started coming apart when I received it and it is a rather heavy, floppy item.... I cannot speak to its durability as I have only used once.

Very pleased. Will keep foods hot for 4-6 hours
Thicker than before. Very pleased. Will keep foods hot for 4-6 hours. Nice for transporting dishes to covered dish events and having the items stay warm.
