Awesome so happy I did this

I knew nothing about my background and this test has given me a lot of answers. If you are also a person who is mix or you don’t even know you’re mix and suspect it. I would highly recommend it.I was born in El Salvador and never really met family outside of my parents. My parent themselves don’t even know their ancestry.Turns out I was born in El Salvador, but I am not even half Latina. I am 70% mix European and the 30% American indigenous.I look Asian so I totally thought I had Asian in there lol

I want to reiterate another review as I had the same experience:"I would rate this product zero stars if I could. The description was misleading, and this product was completely overpriced compared to what you would pay for on the 23 and Me website. Please be advised that this product is HELATH ONLY and you are not able to add ancestry after the fact. This product was $99 when I purchased it and on the 23 and Me website right now the health plus ancestry pack is $99. This is a scam. This is a rip off. Do not buy this product.Plus, the health insights are not in depth and don’t offer much more than generic descriptions."

I have had questions about my biological father as well as questions about my genetic make-up. This test answered a lot of questions and easy instructions. I was able to send it out the next day. It also gave me a website to track the package, so I know when they received it. It made the waiting period a bit easier with the updates. It takes approximately 6 weeks for the results to come back. The report indicates if you carry genes for certain inherited conditions, which was very valuable to me seeing how I only know half of my relative's medical history. It was really worth the money and time.

I bought this to see if it can detect the SOD 1 gene. So many of my family mem have died from this and approaching the the same age as my mom when she was diagnosed. There is no information on if I carry that gene or not. I am otherwise healthy. This did detect that I have a high probability of getting type 2 diabetes but that is a given most of my family has that. otherwise, the only other thing this test shows is I am likely overweight, That is funny because I have been thin my entire life. I am currently 113 lbs and 5 ft 2. Not at all overweight. Not sure how accurate these tests are but this was covered by my HSA plan.

While the pre-generated reports from the 23andMe Health-only Service are nice, I loved having access to my genetic data to research independently. The health predispositions, carrier status, and wellness reports did meet my expectations, but the real value for me was in accessing the raw data and exploring my genes on my own. This service is perfect for those who want to take control and investigate their genetic information autonomously. The process of collecting the sample and receiving the results was smooth and efficient. Overall, if you enjoy delving into genetic research independently, this service provides the necessary tools to do so.

I don't know what I was expecting, but I still feel let down. I mean anybody who got my stats would have told me what I already knew. So personally, save your money and just go look in the mirror. Especially if your past 40 years old.

No issues or missing pieces. Easy to use and you can mail it off from the original box and don’t need additional postage. My only hiccup was my mail box slot for outgoing mail is too small to fit this, so I had to drop it off at the UPS store, but that isn’t necessarily an issue with the product itself.
