Works with Android Auto on Kenwood 9704s
Bought this so I could mount it in my 2011 Ford F-150 XLT ,My Kenwood came with USB extensions , but I wanted to make it look stock . Hole saw bit , Mounted and looks like it came with the truck .This setup is REALLY nice . Strong but looks vibrant and new . Cables are over built with strong but flexible wires . Outer sheathing is SUPER nice material . Slick , bright , and strongThe cable stress reliefs are in every place they should be ,making it worry free of loose solders later down the line To be honest , it feels and looks almost water proof if not resistant at the least .The mounts and nuts are really nice with zero flash or burrs left overRubber cap is nice durable rubber and covers it snuglyTerminal jacks are REALLY well built with a strong connection but release without yanking on them .Paired up with Android Auto SUPER FAST with NO lag whatsoever .My Motorola Power charges just fine while using these usb ports/cablesBest bang for the buck NO DOUBT in my mind . I feel confident in saying to everyone , BUY IT . Its a steal and worry free. And as always thank you Amazon Prime for faster shipping than The Millennium Falcon can make the jump to hyper space !!!

Fixed Android Auto in my 2016 Jeep Wrangler
I have a 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Freedom Edition and I have tried 3 different Android Auto head units, each time reusing the console USB port in the Jeep by removing the Uconnect system. The Sony XAV-AX100 worked perfectly fine. The Sony XAV-AX5000 hardly worked at all. My current Alpine iLX-W650 was probably working well over 50% but still pretty problematic.I did a lot of troubleshooting, I made YouTube videos about it and posted on Jeep forums.I eventually decided the wiring for the console USB in the Jeep is just not compatible with Android Auto. I tried a few different options but wound up replacing the cigarette lighter port on the dash with a flush mount dual USB port. I have not had any Android Auto issues since the USB port install.I made a video of it on YouTube, but the video was too large to post here. I have included a picture of the thumbnail. You can search for "5after12" and you should be able to find it.I first tried just running a long USB extension cord from the back of the head unit to the area between the seat and the console, but it also had some issues. I assumed that was problematic due to the length. The benefits of this current setup is the relatively short wire run. The ICESPRING dual port USB has worked like a champ. I have one port connected directly to the head unit, and the other I plugged into a Samsung fast USB charger, and it works great. So the top port I can use for Car Play or Android Auto, and the bottom port I can use for fast charging. Since I switched to the USB cigarette lighter port I have had zero disconnects with Android Auto.

Works as expected, but I had to trim it so it would fit.
I did not want to use the cover, as I'm going to have a USB key with my audio library plugged in all the time. But this acts as a holder for the cover - without the cover it's a little too large to fit in the standard sized opening, but just small enough where it attaches crooked. The housing is a dense rubber material, so it was easy to trim. Took about two minutes. The next issue was threading the collar behind the dash panel. I had to 3D print a collar to add space between the dash and the collar. That's because of my dash design. But it's done and looks great. One caveat - there's a LOT of wire. I had to really finagle it so it all fit and the dash cover snapped back on.

Great for providing through-panel connections for stereo head unit installation!
Purchased to replace cigar lighter in 2012 Ford Expedition when installing new head unit.Head unit has two USB connections and I didn't want extension cables running loose through dashboard cracks. This brings the USB ports to the front while eliminating a nearly useless cigar lighter. Provides for a super clean installation and connection/charging point that looks like it belongs!Data transfer seems to have no problems. Charges at full speed of the head unit's capabilities. Installs nice and clean. Wires are long enough to give lots of location options while still reaching the head unit's USB connections.Highly recommend for this application!***UPDATE APRIL 2025***This was originally purchased and installed in August 2020.In April 2025, nearly FIVE YEARS after installation, I started receiving 'USB OVERCURRENT DETECTED' alerts on my head unit. I believe this component has failed - AFTER NEARLY FIVE YEARS of DAILY use!! That is NOT a complaint!! It's a testament to the quality of this item!!I will be purchasing a replacement since this one lasted so long and has worked so well for it's entire time installed! One thing I have learned - I recently switched from Android to Apple and with my head unit (Kenwood Excelon DNX696S) only one port is compatible with Apple's CarPlay while Android Auto is usable on both. I am certain this is a head-unit thing and NOT this item, but thought it was noteworthy.

works perfectly
Has been installed for almost 2 years and works great. Hardest part was getting the old cig lighter out.
