What is the threading if i wanted to attach brass connectors to either side?

Will this work with oil?

Can't say for sure, but I would say it depends on things like whether the oil is clean and how hot the oil is. I would think that it would work with clean, ambient temperature oil, but that does not take into account what the seals are made of and what kind of oil you're talking about. Some oils will degrade the seals. Not much help, but something to think about.

Max water temp and is the spring inside stainless steel?

In the industrial world, low temp is 180f or less, High temp is 181- Steam, so when someone says low temp, you can use this idem. I personally have used them on my boiler returns without a problem, just make sure you at 5ft of head for your circulator pump,
