They are decently thin and fit underneath the padding in my helmet. If your using a modular helmet I can see these being difficult to hear as those are usually noisier. I am using these in a full face helmet and they work great. Sound is good enough to enjoy your music and hear it too. I also bought Fiio E6 but I haven't hooked it up yet so I have been running these using just my cellphone and Pandora. At full volume on my phone they are TOO loud so they do work pretty good. You can easily hear them over traffic and even the wind on the freeway.You have to make sure that they are centered over your ears, as if you were wearing headphones. You want them in the same position. I managed to get them perfectly over my ears and they stay there. After about 5 minutes of wearing the helmet I don't notice them anymore. Cord was easy to route and the break away in the cord is nice so I can tuck the jack up into the chin area on the helmet when not using it. I recommend putting them UNDERNEATH your padding. If you don't then your ears are likely to get pretty sore from taking the helmet on and off. There is still an uncomfortable point when removing he helmet but otherwise it is manageable.BTW, I ride a Triumph Daytona 675 with a Leo Vince factory race exhaust that is freaking loud but I can still hear my music. Sound quality will depend on how you have them centered over your ears.UPDATE: I received the Fiio E6 headphone amp and have nothing bad to say about the combo. The in helmet speakers only got better. Increased bass response and vocals. Music is clearer and you can turn it up quite a bit more if you need to drown out lots of road noise. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Not bad for the money *by T***S on Reviewed in the United States on August 11, 2014* Not bad for the money. I put them in a Bell Qualifier helmet and they made it a bit more snug around the ears but not bad. I hooked them up with the Mpow bluetooth device mounted in my helmet and can't complain. Volume is ok for my bike but bass is still lacking. I don't think you will get great bass with this kind of speaker no matter what you buy. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ gotta find the sweet spot *by S***N on Reviewed in the United States on May 16, 2011* I ordered these earphones to install in my modular full face helmet. Installation was pretty straightforward and the instructions were understandable. It took a while moving the speakers around to make them fit my ears correctly but once I did they were fairly comfortable. I still noticed they were there though. As for the sound, Great! the cables and connectors are sturdy and weatherproof. I think the system will stand up well.
