Fiskars Silicone Craft Mat (15 x 18 Inch)

I love this craft mat! I’m so glad I purchased two of them- sometimes my sister will craft with me and sometimes I like to have extra workspace.So far I’ve used it when painting, working with my hot glue gun (which always falls over), and my alcohol inks. I was really interested to see how clean up would be with those, and with just a little blending solution the inks cleaned right off the mat. You can see the before and after in the pictures I shared.I did not notice a strong odor as some other reviewers when first unboxing my craft mat, nor have I since. It is very thin, but I see no problem with this. Anything I’ve gotten on it so far has cleaned up without any issue. It does not have any stickiness on the back but it still does a good job clinging in place to my wood table. I have not had any problems with it sliding around.I am very satisfied with my purchase and am so happy not to be using wax paper, parchment paper, or plastic to protect my table anymore; this mat is so much better than any of those.

I chose this mat as an alternative because the best ever craft mat, the one I wanted, was out of stock.It performs its intended purpose.The issue is the strong chemical smell. It’s a toxic, headache inducing odor.Repeated washings in the kitchen sink haven’t lessened the odor, not eliminated the offending stench.I can smell it throughout my apartment. I have decided take the mat to the dumpster as soon as I finish this review.I used the mat and it worked great. Dried glue peeled off and there was minimal staining with inks.

I hate to say it, since Ranger is such a solid brand, but I like this mat better than the Ranger mat. It’s heavier and stays in place better. Highly recommend.

The best thing ever!!!! I use epoxy a lot so this really comes in handy. Once the epoxy dries I can peel it right off.

I had planned to use this when water coloring, but the tape will not stick to this mat, so I only use it for heat embossing. It is a good size, it fits neatly on a wooden folded TV tray, which I place next to my drafting table in my craft room. It is good to be able to have the item lay on something when heat embossing so you don't burn your fingers.Updated 10/15/2018It is not flimsy as some have said. I moved it to my solid working table and have been able to get washi tape to stick to it for watercoloring and inking. It is sticky to hold your cardstock or waterpaper in place. It is an abosultue must have in your craft room. Great for stamping on too

I really wanted to like this mat. It’s a good size but after using it for a month for my card making and paper crafting I hate it. Everything sticks to it, and it’s difficult to clean. Embossing powder clings to it. When I try to pick up tiny paper cuts or other embellishments with my jewel picker, they stick to it like glue. If I get ink on it, it’s hard to clean off. I would not buy this again.

After reading the reviews posted here, I was already aware that this silicone craft mat would be rather thin. However, thin is not the word I would use to describe it. More like "flimsy". It moves around alot even though it's supposed to grip to your working space. I am constantly having to readjust it just from my arms touching it while I'm working.This product also claims to be protected from "stains and marks" due to it being nonporous. I found this to be pretty much true until I started working with pigment powders such as Pearl Ex and Perfect Pearls. I got quite a bit of this powder on the surface of the mat but was reassured it would come off easily because of the claims and also it being nonporous. Well...I was completely wrong. I used many baby wipes trying to get the powder stains off. It now has a slight pink stain that is very hard to see but is noticeable if you are really looking. I couldn't even get it to show up on camera but it's still there in certain lighting.The other issue I have is that everything sticks to the top surface though. Especially embossing powders, dust and bits of cardstock left over from die cutting. I always go through several baby wipes just to clean it.I would NOT recommend this product to anyone. I would really prefer just to send it back but don't have the packaging anymore.

I saw this advertised in an online class decided to try it. After using it a few times, I wonder why I didn't buy one of these years (or decades) ago. Cleanup is much easier in general, both wet and dry, as long as you make sure the right side is up. (Ask me how I figured that out, lol) I used it for paint, a hot glue gun mat, and even for watercolor marker blending. If you do any messy crafts, you need this in your life. Now I want one to cover my entire kitchen table. 😊

Love it!! So useful for so many projects. I love being able to paint or glue and it is easy to clean in a little soapy water.

I bought this mat to protect my new desk from marks and stains. I really like how it is clear so it does not look too busy on my desk. It seems very hard to clean since it is silicone, but I am not planning on getting it extremely dirty to require frequent cleaning. I do wish that there was a larger mat of this same type available, but I guess that I will make do with this one.

A: I don’t see why not silicone mats are very resistant sticky material, I use it for repairing things with contact cement, the contact cement peels right off the mat! The mat is a we pricey but works well, comes rolled up in the box, rolls out flat and can be rerolled and stored in the box easily. It’s a very well made mat and very little smell when new, non invasive. Highly recommended product.

Works as advertised. It’s not a big mat, but I didn’t need anything too large for my purposes. I wanted something off which different kinds of glue could be easily cleaned, and this is definitely it. Rinses easily and ready to use again. No smell. Which is nice.Definitely do not use this for cutting. It is not made for that purpose.
