PS2 Controller Extension Cable - 6 Foot (Bulk Packaging)

OK hands down cordless controllers are the way to go. Now that the PS2 is a "retro" system the cordless controllers are CHEAP- but if your like me you have a few corded controllers that still work just fine. The problem comes in when you hook the PS2 to the big screen tv. Even under ideal conditions I'm still sitting WAY to close. My wife got sick of my moving the furniture all around just so I could play a little GT4, so she told me to get a wireless controller. While searching for one I stumbled across these little gems. I ordered 2 so now I can use my corded controllers from the other side of the room (up to 24 feet away if I streach the PS2 as far from the TV as the cord will allow (about 6 feet), the 6 feet of controller cable, and 6 feet each for these cables). They work very well and I don't notice any lag or slowdown. The only thing you want to watch for is people tripping on them.

Wonderful product, that lets me play my favorite PS2 games, from across the room as opposed to up close. It works great with both 3rd party and official gamepads. I didn't even notice any kind of lag! Easily a nice alternative to the more pricey wireless controller route. The official game pad has about a 6 foot reach, so with this the gamepad can reach about 12 feet. It did have a little cap on the system connector though that I didn't notice at first, so sat there trying to figure out why it wasn't fitting into the console...once I realized that I was an idiot however it fit perfectly!

Good wireless controllers on PS2 controllers seem to be a rarity. I thought getting some extension cables for official PS2 controllers would be much better. I was right. __Compatiblity__ These extension cables work on both PS1 and PS2. I have had no issue with these cables after about 5 years of use. ( I bought these in 2014) They've held up for this long, and I'm very pleased with them. __Consensus__ • Good work-around for getting longer distance to avoid junky wireless controllers • Works for a long time. (5 year personally)

This extension cable for PS2 is just what the doc ordered. We like to play our games on the big screen in the living room, but with the short cords that come standard with a PS2, we would have to make modifications to the room just so we could play. Move the PS2 out of the entertainment center, set it up on a box in front of the tv, scoot the couch closer to the tv... You get the idea. Now, with the additional 6 feet, we don't move anything. Just push play and we are good to go. A tech friend of ours said to watch out for slower reaction times due to the additional 6 feet, but so far we haven't noticed it any slower at all. It functions just like the original.

Big issue we had with our playstation 2, was that the cords aren't long enough for living room application, and most affordable wireless controllers for the ps2 are horrible quality and burn through batteries way too quick. This has been great, can play while sitting on the couch, chair anywhere, without being on top of the TV. Especially if you have a bigger TV. While smaller tv's being a bit closer isn't a huge deal, a bigger one, you want to sit further back, especially if you have kids that play. Works great with no button lag. I use this on an old style "fat" ps2.

May just be the seller I purchased from sending shoddy material, but I went to play some Matrix - Path of Neo on my PS2 today and attempted to use my extension cable to play. Only to be greeted with a "cannot detect dualshock 2 controller in port," both the extension and the connection to the extension cable were seated snugly. Once I removed the extension and plugged in the controller normally, the game continued. I attempted with both the PS2 and PS1 with no such luck. It's a shame that I couldn't give this product a better review as I was excited to finally be able to enjoy my PS2 games in bed. As I've seen many reviews of this stating how well it works, I'm convinced that I may have just gotten a dud one. So, my advice. Be cautious in purchasing this item...it may work but in cases like mine and a few others, it may not work at all.

I currently own PS3, XBOX, and Wii; recently I reached a point where I had played so many of the games on my newer consoles that interested me and beat them as well as getting all the new release titles that I wanted and beating them that I was running out of games to play/to keep me entertained. Well, what's better then good ol' fasion PS2? I spent $30 bucks on a used PS2, bought the GTA (Grand Theft Auto) Trilogy Pack, and I've been gaming for HOURS on games that I grew up on and I STILL LOVE! The reason I purchased this extension cable is because I wasn't able to sit in my usual comfortable spot and play my PS2 so that sort of diverted me from even playing it. I knew I wanted to play those oldschool games SO bad but I didn't feel like sitting so close to my 42' HD TV to do it, so I remembered having a few of these back in the day, and let me tell ya', it saved the day again!

Did a quick test and seems to work just fine, has a decent click when plugging in. It does however feel and look cheap, I will update this review if any longevity issues are found in the future. So far pretty darn good for the price.

A little disappointed that it is grey and not black as it is in the picture, messes with the asthetic of my setup! Also when it arrived the box was heavily damaged, appears to work ok however does bring into question the seller's accuracy of item descriptions.
