Will Crack eventually
Shame on Kohler. This cannot help but fail over time. I bought this to replace my (similar) Kohler K3646 which developed a crack in the seat. See picture. It was about a year and a half old. The (poor) design distributes the weight that 'sits' on it onto the back hinge and front bumper. New seat is the K4734-0, but same design as the old cracked one. The pictures of the bumpers are the new seat. The rear bumper sits about 1/8 to 3/16 inch above the toilet bowl rim until weight is applied to the seat. The toilet seat then flexes just in front of the rear bumper which forces the bumper into contact with the toilet bowl rim. At that point, the seat is supported on all four bumpers, but it is too late. The plastic seat flexes just that little bit every time it is used. If I remove the front rubber bumpers, it may not flex quite as much, but then the "no slide" feature will not work. Great mounting, very easy to remove, soft close, so I gave it 3 stars, but it's going to crack eventually. I'm surprised it cracked with that small of a deflection, but it did. I'm hoping this one fails a little faster this time so I can put a warranty claim in and not have to buy yet another one. We have two bathrooms and there are only two of us, average weight. But, it doesnt really matter how heavy you are, it flexes with only a slight amount of weight, then the whole weight gets properly distributed, but the flexing damage is done. If you don't use it, I think it will last a long time.

big improvement over old Kohler seat
This is a good buy and it seems to be genuine Kohler. our old seat was 15 years old and needed replacement. there are so many options it was difficult to decide. anyway, got this one and it fit great. we have the elongated bowl. much more secure than the old one and this one has rubber pads on the bottom. don't know how effective they will be but they can't hurt. very pleased. install was very easy and it looks good. the slow close feature is very nice. thanks Kohler. good price as well.

Kohler customer service is very responsive
Love this quiet close toilet seat. When building a new house, my contractor said that it was a first when I said I had such a strong preference for toilet seats. My family has been using these Rutledge seats for so long (>10 years) that when we use toilets elsewhere we forget and slam toilet lids. Kind of embarrassing! Other than the quiet close, the main reason I buy these seats are for the quick-release hinges. It allows me to take the seat off in seconds routinely for a good clean for messy kids. I also like the look of the seats. The lip around the top of the seat adds a bit of style rather than the standard flat top. They're comfortable to sit on and I've never had a stain on these seats. You can move the screw around easily left and right to mount it so it is a good fit for your seat. The final thing I love is that Kohler is super responsive if you call them. One of the seats I bought was missing parts. I called and within 3 days the hardware was at my door, free of charge.I had the contractor install these seats in my new house, and one of them was put on crooked (see pictures of crooked seat and hinges of crooked seat). All it took to fix the situation was to remove the quick release covers, loosen the screws, line the seat up straight and retighten. About a minute and it was all fixed.I saw some negative reviews on these have been about the hinges shifting. To prevent shifting, push the bolt down through the provided hinge through the hole in the toilet. Line up the toilet seat cover so it sits straight on the seat (there is give and take left to right with the hinge so you can line it up in the perfect spot for your toilet. Then from the bottom push the wing nut up TIGHTLY into the toilet seat hole. With a screwdriver, tighten the seat cover as much as humanly possible. Once the hinge covers are in place, if the wing nut and top screws are tight, the seat should not move on you. If you have any problems and it is still moving, call Kohler and ask them for new hardware. There is a gap between the seat and the toilet itself, but it isn't a big deal to me and I wouldn't lower my rating because of it.

This seat fit perfect on our older two piece kohler.
Install took about two minutes total and the lid went right on the toilet without any problems. Love the quiet and easy down feature...Perfect seat if a person has children! No more banging lids.

Less "robust" than expected, missing one of two bumpers...
I was hoping this would be sturdier than some of the other flimsy light-weight plastic seats. It is about the same thickness as others from the mainstream replacement seat makers. The quick-install and quick-clean system works well for installation, but it does allow some undesired movement side-to-side.The unit I received came with one of the two required "bumpers" missing.I contacted the very friendly Kohler support line and provided the information, they will send the missing part but there is a "30 day manufacturing lead time" delay for the replacement for the missing bumper.I noted to the support agent that I was surprised the simple bumpers were not already installed in the seat - it would have eliminated the possibility of the missing part.I will have to move this to the guest room toilet to wait for the missing part. (not expecting any guests for a while)

Good Product, but many manufacture defects in cosmetics
I returned my original one that I purchased and got this one as a replacement. There are number of cosmetic defects from the mold. The mold used to make this seat is old and was repair may time, you can see second infusions of plastic, as well as the removal process from mold, creates scratches at the back of the seat. Otherwise, the seat is great, it is meant for a bit bigger hinney. I like the slow silent close as that it stays sturdy, and doesn't move

Good quality with a twist
This seat is sturdy and does the job well. Definitely better than the $20-30 seat I had before. Just note that when you take it out of the packaging, it may have dirty water droplets at the bottom of it...I had ordered one and the bottom of the seat had yellow and brown dried water droplets. I sent it back thinking that quality control had missed something. I ordered a replacement and it had more or less the same thing, just colourless. I assume now that they just might do a final cleaning to remove plastic shavings and filth from the manufacturing process with the same water over and over. At least I hope that’s what it is. Still opened it wearing nitrile gloves and cleaned it with bleach before installing.

As described
Very welll made, easy to clean and works like a charm. Just wish all men would learn to lower the lid. Who wants to enter a bathroom with the toilet bowl lid up? Not a pretty sight :(

Excellent!
Excellent replacement for my WaterRidge (Costco ) toilet seat. Unlike the Costco seat, it does not move from side to side, and removes easily for cleaning. And it fits perfectly - that's why I replaced my second toilet seat the following week.
