Great tasting coffee
I bought this product because I wanted a pour over carafe made of glass. This is beautiful, easy to use, and the coffee tastes markedly better than when processed through my french press. Fines will flow through the microfilter with a fine to medium-fine grind, so I line the microfilter with a No. 1 paper cone filter. This keeps out all the fines. It takes about 2-3 minutes to process a 12-oz cup of coffee, depending on grind, but processing time is about the same with or without the paper filter. Cleanup is extremely easy as no grinds get stuck in the microfilter. If used properly I expect this product to last a long time. (I have a borosilicate glass water kettle that I have been using daily for about 8 years.)
