Great for little paws
These are sharp and easy to hold. We got them to clip bunny nails. I wasn't sure if it was worth trying expensive clippers like these, but nail time left everyone upset and a little traumatized. (Rabbits can get really scared and kick so hard they hurt themselves.) After a few months of only being able to get one paw done before everyone was at their limit, I gave in and got these. The first time trying, we were able to clip almost all his nails before he hopped away! Contrast this with the cheap clippers we got before (like $6), where it would take an hour or more to clip his nails because the dull blades made it hard to cut through the first time. If you are considering getting these, just do it. It is worth the investment. Pros: Sharp blades that cut through quickly and easily Easy to hold Feel more secure than other nail clippers Cons: Really these are a life saver, only con is that you still have to go through the dreaded nail clipping you bought them for.

Human approved, cats disagree.
This review is from the human that is attempting to do the maintenance on the claws of the cat, and not from the cats’ perspectives. I can assure you that a review from the cats’ perspectives would be quite different, judging by the shredded quilt that I attempted to use to subdue my small, furry, former friends (I have hopes that with some wet cat food they might forgive me...at least in time for their claws to need another trim...) and the wounds I am attempting to staunch the blood flow from my arms and shoulder. Yeah, I am not sure how my shoulder got a bite, but here we are. The cats seem to have quite a low opinion of these trimmers. I, on the other hand, find them to be comfortable, easy to hang on to as I was doing my best to wrangle a quilt full of 12 and 10.5 pounds of feline fury emitting growls that I am fairly certain turned the hounds of hell back at the gate in fear. I was able to get most of the claws clipped (ok, as many as I was able to get to before the cat managed to bite through the quilt and put a few holes in the back of my arm—that hurt more than my last tetanus shot, which I am fortunately already up to date on). The slightly rubberized inside of the fingerholes helped me to keep ahold of the clippers while trying to find and extend each toe, and the small size made it easier to deal with than the larger ones I had before.

Ok
These work fine, but not any better than the “professional” wide toe nail cutters we have been using and prefer.

I Was More Nervous Than My Cats
I was never really a fan of trimming cats’ nails. I had a cat before and never felt the need to do it. That changed after we moved into a new house and installed expensive curtains. My cats started leaving pulls in the fabric, so I finally decided it was time to trim their nails. To be honest, I was probably more nervous about the process than my cats were. I kept putting it off because I was afraid of hurting them. It turned out to be much easier than I expected. What I liked: • The semi-circular blade design makes it easy to see exactly where you’re cutting. • The instructions on the package are simple and helpful, especially for someone trimming cat nails for the first time. • The blades are sharp and cut cleanly without crushing or splitting the nail. • The handles are comfortable and provide good control. • The small size works well for cat claws. I gently pressed their paws to extend the claws and trimmed just the tips. My cats barely reacted. One of them didn’t even move. The whole process took only a few minutes, and I even recorded a video because I couldn’t believe how easy it was. If you’ve been putting off trimming your cat’s nails because you’re nervous, I completely understand. These clippers made the experience quick, easy, and stress-free. Highly recommend.

Great for my bichon
These are sharp so they go through the nail very fast. Dog doesn't even know it's happened.

Sharp and easy to use
Love these for my cat. The finger and thumb holes are larger than most sissor type cutters. Very sharp.

Unwieldy Compared to Human-style Nail Clippers
I had high hopes for these, having relied on human nail clippers Miayon 2 Pcs Sharp Metal Fingernail Nail Clippers Cutters Silver Tone,Nail Clippers these past 40 years. However, while these scissor-style clippers produced a cleaner cut to the nail than the human clipper, it is unwieldy to open them wide enough to put the nail into the clipping slot. This takes extra time, and when one is dealing with a fidgety cat, it makes the situation frustrating. Additionally, the angle of these clippers made it difficult to see exactly where on the nail I was cutting, whereas the human clippers naturally allowed a better view. It is possible my difficulties arise from my over familiarity with using the human clippers so I will continue using these specialty clippers a while and if they become easier to use, I will update this review. 1 Year UPDATE I continue to alternate between these scissor-style clippers and old fashioned human nail clippers, depending on which cat I am trimming. I have found that these specialty clippers are generally easier to use "upside down," meaning the angle of the blades is facing down. It is a more natural position for my hand. I still stand by my 3 star review, which I do not consider negative (on an ABCDF scale, C/3 is an acceptable grade, but leaves room for improvement). I do use these regularly, but not for all my cats.

Total praise for this product
This tiny dog nail scissors has relieved me from the hurt I have been in for the past several weeks. As soon as it was delivered, I read the instructions and clipped the one nail on my tiny dog’s left paw which, unbeknownst to him, has been causing me horrendous pain. When I saw the little clipping I could hardly believe how much that had affected me—my arms, my hands, and even my legs! This has never happened to me before, and it isn’t his fault. He spends time sitting on my lap while I read. It has always been a peaceful time for us. Until now—but the little sharp clipped off tip of his nail has made everything all better once again! What a relief!

Best trimming solution of all
I tried the fancy grinders (not bad but not great either), and I tried dozens of other variations of claw clippers. Simple is best, as it turns out, and these are definitely the way to go
