Very impressive lock, but its shackle is too big for what I wanted to use it for. I'm sure it will come in handy for something else down the road.

It's sad to read bad product reviews from folks that simply haven't used the product long enough to learn how it works. That is probably easier to do, in the case of such simple devices, as padlocks, that Anybody would think require No instructions and that Everybody has used before, usually with no problems. I have two Abus locks now, a Granite traditional style padlock and one of the mid priced disc locks, and it was not too hard, to think they were both defective, especially the disc lock. The disc lock was my first one and I absolutely HATED that thing, at first... My first frozen morning outside trying to operate it in a hurry, ended with failure. Exactly like some reviews I had read before. I stomped back inside the house and swore I would return it asap. Fortunately, I went back and fiddled with it for 10 mins and learned much of what I needed. Besides learning how to insert the key fully each time, I had also chosen a lock with only an extra 2-3mm of opening space, to fit around my fat security cables. And the key and shackle, especially with disc locks, does not rotate well, IF the shackle meets any resistance, while moving. They work like a charm now 😁 That was also my first experience using these kind of keys and my second Abus lock, with same key type, also has the same problem, a non problem tho, for sure. The key can easily feel like it has bottomed out and is ready to turn, when it has just caught the edge of a wafer or something... Seems to happen 1-2 times on the way in sometimes... I'd guess that with time, the edges of the key cuts and the wafers will round off a tad and they will probably work much smoother. Just me guessing... And/Or perhaps the keys could also benefit from some time with a wire brush. I have noticed that other new keys from major players, have not seen a brush before at all, and these keys appear to be the same. I thought it was standard practice, to finish off, Any newly cut key, with some brush time... For example, I had 10 brand new keyed alike keys, from 5 new Paclocks, that barely worked at all and I could not get my RV unhitched for 20 minutes (🤬 to say the least). But after 5 secs each, on my wire brush wheel, and they were all good to go... So after getting comfortable holding the disc lock with the same hand every time and squeezing the cables together well with the other hand and then rotate the key somehow... I am VERY happy. And the Granite lock is fantastic too! Abus makes very very good stuff and they are now my first stop for locks...

This is a super solid, weatherproof padlock that doesn’t proved much surface area to grind with an angle grinder. Seems to be very scumbag proof, although I’m sure a highly motivated scumbag will find a way. Good thing they’re not usually highly motivated. I took one star off for the very high price.

I couldn’t find anyone with a photo that confirms it will fit a storage shed hole. I can confirm this fits and it is a tight fit.
