My first impression was surprise at the holographic logo stickers on the package. This seemed like an odd expense for an item I this price range but after reading other reviews I suspect their may have been an issue with counterfeits at some point. The quality of the applicator itself was the next pleasant surprise, several times better than the “as seen on tv” version I previously purchased from a local store, and I was already quite pleased with that stuff. The applicator is precise and I like that the tip cover is a dedicated piece of plast instead of being part of the cap assembly. I am buying this to replace my Rapid Fix brand which is running low. I love the rapid fix but went this route because I needed a new light pen to replace the failed one from the “on tv” stuff. The glue itself cure a bit more flexible than the Rapid Fix brand, similar to how I recall the “on tv” working. This stuff does seem to need a couple of seconds longer under the light than the Rapod Fix but, after some side by side testing, I think I prefer the the slight flexibility of this products fully cured state over the stiffer set of the Rapod Fix. I also own dedictated blacklight flashlights purchased for the express purpose of setting these materials but I feel that the included blue light works better than them for the types of small repairs I usually make.

The package came with the enclosed UV lamp on. I imagine the battery has been significantly discharged. Especially after seeing their comparison of lights.) I used the adhesive on a fishing rod, all surfaces cleaned with Isopropanol, the entire mass was then exposed to UV light. The adhesive would not fully crosslink (cure) using the enclosed UV light. All surfaces were still wet. I then exposed it to sunlight. The adhesive partially crosslinked. It was still very sticky. I then used a high output UVA (366nm) source and crosslinking improved but was still sticky.I have used many UV adhesives for scientific research and Loon Outdoors UV wader repair with complete success.I am speculating the adhesive is a bad batch or of poor quality.

This glue never cured after exposing it to the UV light. Also wasn't much glue in the original pen. After trying to glue 3 small things (that never held) I had to refill it. This is a knockoff of the original UV glue pen. I've used the original UV glue pen many times and the original pen worked in seconds to provide a super tight hold. I bought this pen because it was cheaper who cheap doesn't matter if it doesn't work.

I like the product a lot. I can fix lots of stuff with it and it makes life easier. It’s a bit hard to squeeze out of the tube so if you have any tricks for that let me know please. Thanks again for replacing the defective one. Much appreciated!
