I'm sure everyone cleans their new toys, blithely minding their own business as they remove random invisible germs and dust. Now, who knows what you clean your toys with. An antibacterial wipe? A soft cloth with some baby soap? A paper kitchen towel with some water?I used the first, and was truly shocked when (after TWO SECONDS of a quick rub over the round red disc) so much paint had transferred onto the wipe that it looked like a drag queen had used it to remove lipstick. I thought: "Perhaps it is too abrasive? Let me just use some soap."As a result - I tried the same thing with the two other cleaning options listed above. Same thing. Red, green, blue, yellow - the paint would come off on the cleaning material with dramatic effect. Thank heavens I did not just hand the toys to my baby to play with; the paint would have immediately come off in his mouth!Please avoid this product. I am returning it immediately and would advise others to steer clear. Having been fans of the beautifully made wooden toys by Selecta for months now, this shape sorter was an especially unpleasant purchase.

I bought this for my year old grandson and I an delighted with it. It is an excellent teaching toy and the pieces are nice and chunky and easy to handle. Non toxic paint and well rounded shapes that are attractive as well as informative for beginning maths skills and fine co ordination.

I've ordered 2 of these for 2 great-nephews' 2nd birthdays.As other reviewers have said, it's small, I've included a photo next to a remote control for scale.It's sturdy and attractive, and I suppose a smaller size allows for easy storage.Hopefully the little lads will have fun with them!

Excellent quality wooden toy. Very happy and my 3 year old loves it.The only downside that I can find it the box. It's clearly been translated into English by a computer as the language doesn't really make sense but thats ok with me. The toy itself is brilliant and I'm going to get another for nanny's house!

My grand daughter (1yr 6 months) absolutely loves it.She enjoys it everyday. She has developed a very good palm grip and pincer grip.It’s helped her with the her hand and eye coordination. Worth buying this puzzle.It’s safe, easy to move it around and not too heavy for the child to carry it.
