Used for 4 years now, Very good Success.
Location: West-central Texasme: retired Navy, lifetime outdoorsman. Have shot many deer in my life and now only hunt with my grandkids. How used: poured one gallon of deer cane liquid on the ground within 20 feet of automated corn feeder (Texas wildlife department asks deer hunters to feed deer, especially in drought years-completely legal and encouraged so no comments about baiting please-) Feeder location is isolated among oak trees near well traveled deer trails (about 20 yards from active trails).Experience with deer cane liquid (gallon): Used one gallon 4 years ago in September, just before archery season. Didn't see much action on it right away even though it was close to the feeder. After season(early Spring after season ended), I noticed it was showing signs of aggressing pawing / licking. I set up camera's and verified that it was whitetails of both sexes. Pregnant does especially but bucks too.I skipped a couple of years of using it then last year I noticed that deer were pawing/licking the same spot where I had poured it 2 years previous. I went and bought another gallon. I added the 2nd gallon in the same spot. Again, not too much action in the fall but this year (2014), early spring, they are hitting it hard again. All verified with my game camera's.Based on my limited experience FOR MY AREA, this is best late winter / early spring for bucks (and does) who need protein and minerals. Once they know where to find it, they remember and keep coming back, for years. I have a lot of photo's from my camera showing them licking / using it.They have dug and licked so much that it has made a hole in the ground like a pan. When it rains it fills up but they keep licking on the edges until it dries.I am posting a pic that shows fresh tracks after a rain near the edge of a wet spot - Just took the pic Mar 2014. The wet spot is the depression where the deer cane was poured last year (August 2013). This stuff really lasts. Needless to say, I am going to put out some more every year.My final thought FOR MY AREA is this: Put it out right now, late winter/early spring near a source they are already visiting. Once they start using it, you are set. My nephew killed his first deer, an 8 point, at my deer cane location.P.SIf you are using deer cane as an attractant only, you might google deer cane users in your area. Deer hunting Bulletin boards will pop up on your search and you can read about others experience for YOUR area. It's a mineral mix beneficial for deer so using it is a good idea anyway. If they are licking it, they must need the minerals. Now, If you want my 2 cents on attractants, I have very good success with Big & J's "BB2". Put it out, set up your camera and be prepared to see deer eat all of it in one or two visits. They won't lick the ground like with the deer cane but they will eat it down to the dirt.Sorry for my manners using ALL CAPS but it is important you understand that it works differently in different areas. I suppose the Deer Cane sellers might not like my review saying this but oh well, it's the truth.

After thorough testing! Meh! It kind of works. (Read documented results).
I really wanted to see how good these attractants worked, so I bought several different kinds and set them up in competition in front of game cameras to see if one actually was better then the other. For this test I used this one (Deer Cane), Wildgame Innovations Sugar Beet Crush and Evolved Habitats Beast Feast. I used them all season long around several of my corn feeders and along known deer trails. I also dug 1 foot deep holes and mix each of these in with enough corn to fill the holes. The Results.Around the feeders the deer paid little attention to the spots I put these attractants. The deer did eat some of the corn in the holes but only the tops. The corn is still in the holes today after months and there has been no attempt by the deer to get at it. Along the trails the game, the cameras did capture pictures of the deer stopping to smell the different patches where I pour the attractants out, but upon close examination of the areas, there was no sign that the deer had licked or pawed the area trying to eat the attractant.Analysis of the data.None of the attractants stood out from the others. The deer showed equal interest in all three. The amount of interest the deer showed was appeared to be nothing more then curiosity.Summery.While these attractants might have some benefit when added to corn, they appear to have no tangible benefit by themselves. I also use real acorns in the same areas where I placed these attractants. With in 24 hours of dumping out piles of acorns (multiple times through out the season), there was a noticeable increase in deer traffic, and even new deer coming into the areas that had not been seen before in the area. The deer would remain in the area until every last acorn was consumed.Recommendation.While these attractants might work to some extent, they in no way work to the degree that they are advertised. What does work is real food, like corn, apples and acorns and I recommend using these if there are legal in your state.

Works extremely well
I think the success of any of this stuff is based on a lot of variables. Location, herd, quality of food available and prob too how much human contamination is on the site. I have multiple sites with deer cane on it. Went in with strict noise and scent control. Applied to the ground on two sites and on the ground and a fallen pine log on a third. The log was old. Bark falling off and it was soft. They ate the log area I poured it on. I'm getting great cam pics and it's both does and bucks. I'll add a photo. In it they are munching the pine log. Look close you will see the remnants of it by the two on the left. I bought it first here but now I get it local for $6 a gallon

Great IF your deer love it.
I do love this stuff IF your deer love it. I have used this on properties where the deer would literally ea a stump away or gnaw at the ground to get it all. Then on other properties where they just seem to walk right by and ignore it, or at best sniff it. Best suggestion just try some. Make a slight depression, shake the jug to get it all out as it does settle, then pour it out. I actually place trophy rocks in the depression and then pour the contents over that. Then stick a trail camera on it and watch. If they love it you will be able to see them use it in the camera pics. If they just walk by then don't waste your money further.

Anything to get pictures of the deer....
I have deer in my back yard that travel through, that I really joy just watching.I put up a salt lick for them, as well as this Deer cane, and installed a trail camera. So far, I have nit had any luck catching the deer, but I did nit have the camera up at the right elevation. I am hoping to get luckier soon. I am very optimistic this is going to help me get the pictures I want.

Don't know Yet
Maybe I put this ut at the wrong time...don't know. I didn't have one deer even look at it. There are a few deer around but I would check regularly and no sign. At this point I think it is me and when I put this stuff out.
